JT Bohannan was born and raised in Rogers County. His deep roots, in fact, reach back to the founding of Claremore, as his family, the Wards, were one of the first families to settle in the area. Later, his grandfather, Elmo Tanner, was a mayor and long term city clerk in Claremore. It is no wonder, then, that this Claremore Sequoyah graduate would return to his hometown after college to raise a family of his own.

Connected to the land and the people, Bohannan is actually working as a business owner with both on a daily basis. After owning and operating Cross-Bo Construction for seventeen years, doing excavation and utilities work, JT Bohannan saw a gap in construction services. There was a strong need for an honest, dependable and affordable organization offering sewage treatment. After a big investment of time and training, Wastewater Solutions of Oklahoma was born in 2017.

Wastewater Solutions is a full service business, handling everything related to residential sewage. They are able to install conventional or aerobic systems. They also handle repairs to any type of system as well as maintenance—monthly chlorination treatments or pumping services. Their services are available in both new construction as well as existing homes. Whether a customer needs help with a conventional system or aerobic, they are able to assist.

So why would an aerobic system be the choice as opposed to a conventional system? According to Bohannan, many times aerobic systems are able to be installed in smaller spaces—when a lot won’t accommodate a larger, conventional system. In another instance, soil might not pass a perc test for absorption or drainage or might not be located far enough from a body of water to meet regulations, thus an aerobic system is required.

With an aerobic system, however, comes required maintenance. On a monthly basis, it must be treated and, periodically, it must be pumped. “Many people don’t want to mess with that, or, they just don’t understand how the system works. Education is key, and that is where we are different. We do not just sell and install. We follow up to make sure the customer understands the system. We also offer ongoing maintenance plans to take the hassle out of ownership,” Bohannan explains.

Wastewater Solutions is a certified installer through the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), and they maintain their certification via continuing education. When an installation is needed, Wastewater Solutions acquires the necessary permit to install. And installation is quick—usually within 1 day, an aerobic system can be up and running, or within 2 days, a conventional system. Once installed, the system is covered under warranty for two years as long as maintenance is performed. If a customer so chooses, Wastewater Solutions will inspect and maintain the system on a monthly basis for only $20 per month. After the two year period, a customer may extend the full warranty for an additional two years and continue monthly maintenance services by Wastewater Solutions for $55 per month. At the end of the extended two year period, Wastewater Solutions will pump the system free of charge, a significant savings.

Wastewater Solution’s service area is generous, an approximate thirty mile radius, extending to Rogers, Tulsa, Washington, Mays and Wagoner counties. Wastewater Solutions also understands that maintenance and unexpected repairs can surprise and disrupt budgets at times. For that reason, major credit cards are accepted as payment for installation, maintenance and repairs. Limited financing plans are also available.
