Wings, Wheels & Wishes Event Helps Make Wishes Come True

The Wings, Wheels and Wishes event is a unique fundraiser for the Oklahoma Make-A-Wish foundation organized by Cindi Conner in memory of her son, Bill Campbell, who had a passion for cars. The event includes a car show with vintage and unique models and a fly-in, plus food trucks, ice cream, a live DJ, raffle items, several silent auction items, and more. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Airman Acres Airport in Collinsville. There’s ‘No Place like Home’ at Hospitality House

The Hospitality House of Tulsa is a nonprofit organization that provides a “home away from home” for families traveling to get medical care. At their recent fundraiser, the Route 66 Gurney Tourney, 65 racers from five different teams competed in an obstacle course designed to represent real-life obstacles that families face during a medical crisis far from home. The event raised over $35,000 toward providing home-like lodging, meals, prayer support, and transportation assistance to families in medical crisis. CCLP Asks Area Citizens to Become Caring Grands Reading Program Tutors

The Mission of the Caring Grands Reading Program is to provide tutoring to struggling readers. Volunteers spend 30 minutes a week during the school year to provide one-on-one tutoring with eligible first and second-graders, equipping them with tools to become successful readers before entering third grade. If you're interested in helping the next generation succeed in school, you can attend a free Tutor Training workshop on Thursday, August 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Creek County Literacy Program in Sapulpa.
