The Broken Arrow Veterans Center will be hosting a Q&A forum-style event for local veterans to ask questions and learn about resources available to veterans.

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs will be present to discuss veteran education, health care and benefits. The Q&A will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at the Broken Arrow Veterans Center. The event is a 5-9 p.m. open-house sponsored by Broken Arrow VFW Post 10887.

“Our office actively participates in veteran-centric events throughout the state and partners with veterans service organizations to increase awareness of the benefits and services our veterans and their families may be entitled to receive,” says Jacob Nichols, the Public Information Officer for Muskogee Veterans Affairs Regional Benefits Office. “Connecting with our veterans and their families has a meaningful impact on our employees, most of whom are family members of veterans, or are veterans themselves.”

Representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion will also be in attendance to answer questions.

Post 10887 Commander Ralph Pointer, a volunteer at the BA Veterans Center, hopes that the event will bring in veterans who are unsure of where to start when it comes to their benefits, “They need to know they’re helped by the people – that we are here to help our veterans.”

For local veterans who are looking for assistance, the Muskogee VA Regional Benefits Office offers virtual meetings, or in-person visits in the Muskogee, Oklahoma City and Lawton offices.

The Broken Arrow Veterans Center is located at 1117 S. Main St. in Broken Arrow.
