Allison Benesh welcomes you to Canterbury Lane, where you’ll find perfect gifts for everyone on your list.
With yet another scorching Oklahoma summer under our belt, it’s hard to believe the holidays are mere weeks away. If you are always on the prowl for the perfect gift we’ve found the place for you!
While certainly not new to Tulsa, Canterbury Lane Gifts is an experience that may not be on your radar, but once you set foot into this South Tulsa gem you’ll instantly want to make this your go-to for not only gift giving, but those occasional “treat yourself” days as well.
The store, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, originally began as a booth in Windsor Market. Owner Allison Benesh says her mother had her involved from the very beginning. After only a couple of years, their business grew and they moved into a bigger retail location of their own at 10021 S. Yale Ave. Although her mother passed away several years ago, Allison wanted to keep her legacy alive and continue the tradition of fun, fabulous and unique gifts and decorating items.
“It’s really more about the customers than anything else,” says Allison. She goes on to explain, “Our customers are so loyal and building relationships with them over the years is one of my favorite aspects of the store.”
Canterbury Lane prides itself not only first-class customer service, but also the lines of merchandise they carry. Many of the items they sell can scarcely be found anywhere else in the area. Some of these include Beatriz Ball handmade serving pieces, Caldrea home cleaning line, Isa’s Dead Sea lotions and many objects from local artisans such as Bombdiggity Bath Bombs and art from Laura Austin.
The moment you walk into the store all of your senses come alive with smells and images of holiday whimsy. But, maintaining exquisite customer service is the primary focus. “We want to accommodate each customer with whatever they may need, whether it be a special order, finding the perfect gift or providing that something extra with our always-free gift wrap.” Allison goes on to say, “Everyone loves to give and get pretty gifts and we’re here to make that happen.”
Allison has a lot of help from her store manager, Jordan Koscielniak, who has just as much passion about shopping local as Allison. One thing Jordan is quick to point out, “You can probably find some of our items online, but those big companies can’t greet you with a smile or give back to the local economy.” Giving back is something the store takes seriously. They are involved with Family & Children Services, Jenks Schools and even various fundraisers their customers partake in. Stop in today to find someting special.
