Spring harkens the singing of frogs, warming temperatures, and gardeners dreaming of where to put all the new plants they just have to have this year. If this scene speaks to you, then SpringFest at Woodward Park is an event you won’t want to miss.

The annual SpringFest garden market is one of the largest educational events hosted by the Tulsa Garden Center each year, and the longest running garden market in the state.

Celebrating our 67th year, SpringFest will be held Friday, April 8 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Linnaeus Teaching Garden and adjacent Arboretum, highlighting two of Woodward Park’s treasured spaces.

Some of our more popular plant vendors returning this year include Up With Trees, A New Leaf, Colebrook Nursery, Dotson’s Produce, Tobi’s Cacti & Succulents, Amanda’s Greenhouse, Across Generations, Chaos Cactus, McClain’s Flowers, Duck Creek Farms and Southern Plant Farms. “The variety of plants this year will be amazing!” said Stephani Freeman, SpringFest event coordinator.

And don’t miss our newest plant vendors joining us this year, including Prairie Wind Nursery, Sun Hill Nursery and Tulsa Rare Plant Emporium. Euchee Butterfly Farm and Yard by Yard will also be attending, providing unique information on sustainable gardening practices which benefit pollinators.

We are also excited to welcome back the Linnaeus Teaching Garden tent, as the volunteers have been hard at work since last fall nurturing plants divided from the Garden, and which will be for sale to the public.

Come out early and snag some breakfast before you shop, or purchase a yummy lunch and find a spot in the Arboretum to throw down a blanket and relax before completing your plant wish list. Then while you’re shopping, don’t forget our “Too Much to Carry” hospitality tent where you can leave your purchases with our volunteers, go get your car, then pull up to our drive-thru area so our team can load you up with your newfound beauties. You’ll be back at home in no time to start playing in the dirt!

“Nine of our affiliated plant societies, including the Tulsa Garden Club and the Green Country Water Garden Society, along with our knowledgeable staff, volunteers and plant vendors, will all be available to answer your most perplexing gardening questions and help you find just the right annuals, perennials, vegetables, house plants, hanging baskets, herbs, cacti, succulents and even fresh cut flowers,” said Director of Horticulture Andy Fusco.

This event is free for the public, and all event proceeds benefit educational programming, beautification, and historic preservation for the 45-acre Woodward Park campus.
