If you live in northeastern Oklahoma you’ve certainly heard the phrase, “North South East and Western Wear®.” The effective advertising slogan is undeniably Drysdales® of Tulsa. The thing many may not have realized is that Drysdales’ catalog business extends to all 50 states and several foreign countries. Drysdales is family-owned and led by President and CEO Jim McClure and Vice President Sigmund Schwier. “We ship products to every state each month and wherever there are horses, we do lots of business,” said McClure.
When you enter a Drysdales store, you’ll appreciate their “customer first” attitude in every department. That attitude and the company’s booming catalog business prompted the 1992 expansion into a warehouse near U.S. Highway 169 and Pine Street, where their call center and Internet division operate. The original retail store is located at 3220 S. Memorial Drive. Drysdales’ second successful retail store was opened at 71st and Highway 169 in 2003.
If you’re of the persuasion that Drysdales is just for cowboys and cowgirls, hold on there, partner, you’re wrong. Although Drysdales has a primary focus on boots and jeans – with 100,000 pairs of jeans in stock and 45,000 pairs of boots – they have lots of other leisure apparel that anybody can wear and look good doing it. Everybody wears denim today, regardless of their profession. We all like to “dress up” in our leisure apparel because it looks good and feels great.
Drysdales carries premier brands of casual and leisure apparel for cowboys and anyone else. They also merchandise lots of Carhartt quality work-wear products. They have a fabulous kids department that includes a Kids’ Boot Corral featuring really cool-looking selections. “Our entire store is stocked with items for male and female from the cradle and up,” said Schwier. You can also have your purchases monogrammed and tailored at Drysdales.
Some of the well-known premium jean brands you’ll recognize include Levi’s, Wrangler, Miss Me, Rock Revival, Lucky, Silver, and Rock N Roll Cowboy. The boot selections are from some of the best brands in the world with names like Justin, Lucchese, Ariat, Dan Post, Corral, Tony Lama, Nocona and more.
“We dominate the categories that we carry like Western boots, denim jeans, work boots and the accessories that go with them,” says McClure, “and many customers are pleasantly surprised when they come to Drysdales and find western décor and home furnishings as well.” Drysdales has 200 employees operating at their three locations in Tulsa. The two retail stores are open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
If you’ve never been to Drysdales, pay ’em a visit. It’s sure to become one of your favorite destination locations, where you’re guaranteed to have a ball whether you’re a cowboy or not!
