Youth At Heart provides services to assist youth living in Tulsa’s socio-economically challenged neighborhoods.

will mark Youth At Heart’s fifth annual gala to showcase its mission of equipping youth for success. The Mirror Mirror Magical Moments Gala, being held at the DoubleTree Warren Place will celebrate the work of providing disadvantaged youth with afterschool and summer programs.

According to the National Afterschool Alliance, more than 130,000 students in Oklahoma are left alone or unsupervised after the school bell rings.  Youth At Heart is a non-profit agency that helps kids who may either be left alone, unsupervised, or have no other place to go after school. Youth At Heart provides services to assist youth living in Tulsa’s socio-economically challenged neighborhoods. Programs consist of tutoring, STEM, mentoring, recreational sports, college and career readiness, community service and summer camp.

Youth At Heart is a non-profit agency that helps kids who may either be left alone, unsupervised, or have no other place to go after school.

Unique to Youth At Heart’s history is the number of “student alumni” that boast of the support Youth At Heart provided them as children.  The Youth At Heart staff share success stories that usually end with alumni being recognized as successful adults.   Many of the stories reflect on the students overcoming a wide range of barriers from poverty to the lure of unproductive behavior. 

“The Mirror Mirror Magical Moments Gala will be a formal affair that focuses on the special ‘magic’ supporters make for Youth At Heart students,” stated Mike Canada, 2019 Gala Event Chair.  The gala will feature a local magician, entertainment, fine food, and a live and virtual auction. Tickets are available online for $75 per person. After school programs provide a solid return on investment. Research shows that for every one dollar invested in a program like Youth At Heart, it saves at least three dollars by increasing kids’ earning potential, improving kids’ performance at school and reducing crime and juvenile delinquency.

Youth At Heart has served more than 41,000 kids in over 40 years and they would love for you to be a part of the fun. Put April 12 on your calendar now and plan to join in on the cause.
