Oklahoma Renaissance Festival

Step back in time to the 16th century with Queen Elizabeth I of England and hundreds of entertainers and artisans as they create the boisterous Village of Castleton at the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival. Held at the Castle of Muskogee, this beloved annual event features a royal court, jousters and jesters, magicians, musicians, and minstrels. Delight your taste buds with wonderful and unique foods or browse through vendor booths for one-of-a-kind items.

Bring the entire family and enjoy a day in Renaissance England. Journey to an age of sorcerers, knights in shining armor, kings, queens, and maidens fair. When planning your voyage to Castleton, it is important to note, costumes are encouraged. On any festival day, patrons may discover guests dressed as fairies, Renaissance villagers and nobles, sci-fi characters and even pirates. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of food and drink at one of the many merchants stationed throughout the festival grounds. Special evening events include the Masque'd Ball and The Pirate's Feaste.

Tulsa Spotlight Theater: The Drunkard

Tulsa Spotlight Theater presents a weekly performance of "The Drunkard," an old-fashioned melodrama heavy on audience reactions. "The Drunkard" is an adaptation of "Ten Nights in a Barroom" which was written in the 1840s as a preachy piece meant to discourage the use of alcohol, but is now performed as a raucous comedy. "The Drunkard" has the distinction of being the longest continually performed play in North America having run since November 14, 1953. Find your seat and enjoy interacting with the performers as you boo, hiss, cheer, sing, and laugh along. You can even rent tomatoes to throw at the villain during one part of the performance, but please don't bring your own tomatoes!
