Owasso Liquor & Wine has a huge selection of rare and craft beers.
With more than 10,000 square feet of floor space, Owasso Liquor & Wine features a vast selection of beer, wine and liquor to fit every occasion, menu and budget. Andy O’Neal, who runs the business with his twin brother, Scott, in a family-owned and operated business, describes their store as “having the largest inventory north of Tulsa and is blessed by attracting regular customers as far away as Oklahoma City.
“We do this in part by providing the best customer service of any liquor store in Oklahoma,” says O’Neal. “The best service doesn’t come by accident. We work at it, and it is the daily goal of our family and each member of the 14-person sales staff.”
O’Neal wants his staff well-trained and to have a deep desire to work hard and build a solid understanding of beverages in order to answer customer questions and meet their needs. That need may be simple as taking the customer to a specific beverage in the huge store or creating a special order for a wine or beer.
By checking customer reviews on Facebook, you can get that same idea from a first-time customer who gives the store a five-star rating. The woman’s review included, “First time going to this location and wow (in a good way)!!! First walk in impression is that the place is huge for a liquor and wine store.” O’Neal notes that this attitude is quite common from his customers.
Owasso Liquor & Wine is located on the northeast corner of 86th Street North and the Mingo Valley Expressway, with easy access from Highway 169 North and anywhere in Owasso. “You’ll discover almost everything you want when it comes to beverages, from exciting imports from around the world, to the finest local brews that Oklahoma has to offer,” says O’Neal. “Whether you’re planning a large event or just want to relax at home, our knowledgeable staff will help you find the perfect beverages for your occasion.”
Every member of the family operation is from Owasso, and O’Neal believes that helps set Owasso Liquor & Wine apart from most other liquor stores. “We are from Owasso and we care about our neighbors and our community.”
Andy’s father, Mike O’Neal, established the local liquor and wine retail store in 1991, and brought to their management insight on the wholesale side of Oklahoma’s alcohol beverage industry. “How we purchase and control our inventory is another important factor to the successful operation of our store.”
Owasso Liquor & Wine is also a great stop for craft beer. What exactly is craft beer, you ask? One definition: simply put, craft beer is beer not brewed by one of the big “mega-brewery” corporations. More often than not, when the phrase craft beer is used, this is what it means. However, it is a rather imprecise thing to define something by what it is not, so let’s take it a bit further. The Brewer’s Association in Boulder, Colorado defines craft beer as “beer made by a brewer that is small, independent, and traditional.” When it comes to craft beer, “No one has a better selection and we have the best price,” O’Neal said. “And don’t forget we purchase more rare beer than most liquor stores, and that includes craft beer too.”
