The Bixby Rotary Club welcomes the 21st annual Bixby BBQ and Blues festival, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, May 5th - 7th, to Washington Irving Park just north of the Arkansas River on south Memorial Drive in Bixby, Oklahoma. This premiere competition has 75 teams from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas competing for the Grand Champion of BBQ and People’s Choice Awards. Teams can register at www.bixbyrotarybbq.com The Bixby BBQ and Blues festival is a 3-day family-friendly event this year. Over 50 retail vendors will be displaying and selling their goods and services. A kid's zone will feature slides and inflatables. In addition to the BBQ, there will be a food court with vendors selling BBQ, hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, beer, soft drinks and so much more.

The 8th Annual Bixby Freedom Celebration is a free, community-wide event, full of patriotism and family-friendly fun. You will find a variety of food vendors, representation of several military branches, and much more. A patriotic program will incorporate a public swearing-in ceremony of new military recruits at 8:45 pm. Kids ages 2-15 can enter the competition by age group (2-5, 6-11, and 12-15). There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes awarded for each age group. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to fish, there will be someone there to help you learn!
Bring your own poles & bait! Free hotdogs, drinks & t-shirts for those hungry kids that are competing for the biggest fish! Prizes and food are provided courtesy of local businesses and the Bixby Optimist Club members.
