In horticulture, a perennial is a plant with deep roots that weathers the cold winter months to return in the warmer seasons.

Not unlike a perennial, the Claremore Home & Garden Show will be making its reappearance this spring in Claremore.

Amateur or professional gardeners, do-it-yourselfers, anyone who takes pride in their lawn, home interior or exterior, or those eager to undertake any project for their house or property can find something of interest at the upcoming annual event, scheduled for Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26, in Claremore.

“This (show) is an opportunity for folks to come and connect with vendors from around the region, and some from outside (the region) for their home improvement projects,” said Tanya Andrews, VisitClaremore executive director and Claremore Home & Garden Committee chairperson. “Contractors, service providers, artisans, craftsman and companies will be on hand to showcase their goods and services, whether those involve home repairs or remodels, gardening tips, gardening ideas, gardening equipment, or if you just want to buy some plants, and we have local wineries present, if you just want to buy a bottle of locally-produced wine, the (Claremore) Home & Garden Show offers all this, and more.”

Garden products and advice will help you reimagine your new spring garden.

In addition, Rogers County FFA chapters will have booths setup with a variety of plants available. The FFA Chapters grow them all as part of their horticulture lessons and proceeds from the sales go toward more resources for them.

As weather can often make or break any public event, the show will be held within the Claremore Expo Center, with no fee for admission.

“Although this is generally an event for adults, it’s a great indoor activity for kids as well, as many of the vendors have little give-away items, little freebies for the children,” she said.

Presently, 60 vendors are confirmed, with “several more expected” to commit before the deadline, Andrews said.

See a wide selection of outdoor equipment.

“Appearing at a show such as this is a great, cost effective way for exhibitors to market themselves to the public, in just two days, being seen by up to, if not more than 5,000 event-goers,” she said. “It’s fantastic exposure, particularly if they’re a new business, and they’re trying to get their name ‘out there’ to the public.

“Unlike some of the other, bigger shows, ours is a little more personable, a little more intimate,” she continued. “We’re in 30,000 square feet and people have more opportunities to stop and visit a little more.”

Masks will not be required, dependent upon COVID protocols at the time of the event, but hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the Expo.

Many vendors are local, from throughout Claremore, Rogers County, as well as from the Tulsa Metro area, Andrews said, but there can be those who come from further – such as Oklahoma City or even Arkansas – to offer their products, services and expertise over the two-day event.
