Connie Monhollands invites you to mark your calendar for the Heart of Broken Arrow Arts & Crafts Show on November 4.

Christmas is a comin’ and the shows are getting close! Broken Arrow Show Chairperson Laurann Farris reminds us to mark our calendars now for the Heart of Broken Arrow Arts & Crafts Show scheduled for Saturday, November 4, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the BA Community Center on South Main.  Each year the Show features new and returning crafts vendors offering creations for you or to give as gifts.  “We’re always on the lookout for different and unusual crafts,” said Laurann, “and there’s still time for vendors to reserve booth spaces for the 2017 show.”
Two artists being highlighted are Gary Bennett and Connie Monhollands.  Gary’s art has been a feature at Your Design in Broken Arrow and the Chalk it Up event.  He has won numerous awards for his limestone sculpture pieces that include faces, family names, place names and more.  His special talent surfaced while taking a soapstone sculpture class at TCC.  The third piece he produced won a class award and he was encouraged to try his skills with limestone.  He has since received recognition for his art and he is a featured talent at the Castle in Muskogee during the annual Renaissance Fair.
Connie Monhollands is also a local favorite at the Heart of BA Show with her original button crafts.  She credits her grandmother with instilling a love for sewing, crocheting and doing crafts.  After working with her cousin making button dolls, Connie began her own craft four years ago creating colorful button pieces which were an instant success.  You’ll want to visit Connie and see her button birdhouses, hanging Christmas ornaments and decorative log cabins.  Growing up in Muskogee, she now resides in Broken Arrow with her husband.
The 2017 Heart of Broken Arrow Crafts Show will also have artists displaying a plethora of crafts items including colorful accent accessories, jewelry, quilted pieces, stylish hats and caps, gift baskets, candied jalapeños and lots of unusual handmade items for kids.  This is a great opportunity to do some serious Christmas shopping for family and friends.
You’ll also want to mark your calendar for the annual BA Holiday Tea-Off scheduled for Thursday, November 16th on Main Street BA.  The event will coincide with the City of BA’s Lights On event and the opening of the Ice Rink.
Committee members for 2017 BA Main Street Merchants events include: Laurann Farris (James W. Farris CPA); Patsy Terry (Arrow Flowers & Gifts), and Ashley Colson (On the  Corner).
Load up the family and be a part of your Broken Arrow fun, fall events.
