Eye Care of Claremore offers comprehensive vision exams and eye care for the whole family.
“Our mission is to enhance the health and vision of people through our compassionate, quality care by delivering the service and honor we would expect for our own families,” said Dr. Eric Kuykendall. O.D. “We highly value the relationships with our patients and their families.
“As a locally-owned business, we realized people are looking for highly skilled, caring, and honest providers for their health care,” he continued. “Patients are looking for trustworthy physicians and a knowledgeable, helpful staff for their eye care needs. We can offer these important aspects much more effectively than commercial retailers.”
Eye Care of Claremore originally started out in the fall of 1996 in an old Victorian-style two-story house at the corner of Patti Page and Florence in Claremore.
As patients increased and staff members were added, more space was needed, which brought about the development in 2006 of the current multi-office complex, Triumph Towne Center, Eye Care of Claremore’s current location.
“Being in a community the size of Claremore, I feel one of my strengths is that people know I’m honest, I’m trustworthy, and I try to treat my patients like they’re a member of my own family,” he said. “I feel that trust is something I’ve earned, something that’s been developed over the years, and it’s great to know that our patients have that kind of confidence in us.”
In addition to Dr. Kuykendall, optometric physicians include Dr. Lauren Cisper, O.D., F.A.A.O., and Dr. Cale Fulps, O.D.

“State-of-the-art technology is a priority here – we utilize the newest technology to help aid in the detection and treatment of various eye diseases,” said Dr. Kuykendall.
Optomap Retinal Imaging is one such example of the latest technology in use at the Claremore clinic.
Through this advanced system, doctors are offered an instant view of the patient’s retina to aid in the diagnosis of systemic diseases of the eye, such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, and hypertension, among others.
The clinic offers a full line of sunglasses, sports, and safety glasses, with brands such as Coach, Converse, Flexon, Guess, Jessica McClintock, Liberty Sport, Nike Vision, Oakley, Polo, Ray-Ban, Vera Wang, Versace, and others.
Staying up to date with the latest products, technology, and techniques help Dr. Kuykendall and his team to put their focus on the eye health of their patients.
“There have been several changes in eye care, as well as health care, over the past few decades, and the field of optometry is no exception to that,” Dr. Kuykendall said. “We believe that, as a group practice, we offer the community more options in choosing doctors and staff to meet their family’s needs – all in one convenient location.”
