Dr. Fowler examines a patient at Advanced Vision Center.
Though her last name has changed to Dr. Abby Hogle Fowler (formerly Dr. Abby Hogle Overstreet), her commitment to excellence in eye care has not. Abby Hogle Fowler, O.D. is the owner and founder of Advanced Vision Center, 860 S. Lynn Riggs Blvd. in Claremore, in operation since 2008.
Dr. Fowler takes great pride in treating her patients, ages three to 101: “It’s not a cattle call in here where we just run them through. I take time with every one of my patients.”
Such devotion has netted great relationships through the years: “My patients… have become like family.” In fact, some of the patients she began treating as adolescents are returning as adults, bringing their small children in to be examined.
Advanced Vision Center is truly a sight to behold.
Thorough examination comes standard at Advanced Vision Center—and for good reason. The eye provides an important glimpse into a patient’s overall health. From high blood pressure or diabetes to the discovery of a brain tumor, Dr. Fowler has seen the direct and positive impact of her practice in patients’ lives. She utilizes the latest treatment methods and technologies, investing in a range of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including a retinal camera and GDX for detecting glaucoma.
Whimsical artwork and photos adorn the examination rooms along with colorful, upholstered seating, reflecting Dr. Fowler’s unique vision for the patient experience. At Advanced Vision, there is something for everyone to enjoy, even a Harley Davidson themed examination room. “I want it to be a clinical environment, but I want it to be fun too. Not so sterile,” explains Dr. Fowler.
Themed rooms with stylish accents make eye care at Advanced Vision Center feel whimsical and inviting.
That unique ambience extends to the optical shop as well. “Eye candy” is at every turn. Dazzling furniture, hand-painted by Dr. Fowler and her mother, displays a vast array of frames. Dr. Fowler recalls a memory from early on in her practice when a young girl had her heart set on a stylish pair of glasses that exceeded her family’s budget. Then and there, she determined that her patients would always have a positive experience and be able to find a style at any price point right in their hometown.
Advanced Vision Center’s continued success is clearly attributable to Dr. Fowler’s ability to treat her patients to an experience rather than an examination.
