Blue Bell’s “Taste of Summer” 20th Anniversary Celebrates with 20 Flavors!

Sunshine, swimming, boating, picnics, holidays – there are so many things to love about summertime, and enjoying ice cream on a hot day or evening definitely ranks as one of the season’s top pleasures. On July 16, the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce, 1-800-Water Damage, and Blue Bell Ice Cream are happy to present their 20th annual Taste of Summer, an all-you-can-eat ice cream festival, featuring the many delicious flavors of Blue Bell. Blue Bell Creameries created the festival 20 years ago as an annual way to say thanks to the community of Broken Arrow and beyond for their support. In addition to the main event of ice cream, live entertainment, cooling stations, food trucks, vendors and a Get Active Zone for all ages will also be featured. Typically, the local dance and music studios are invited to participate in providing the entertainment. “We have over 20 flavors of Blue Bell Ice Cream to try, as well as other Blue Bell novelty items,” says Lindsay Cunningham, Communications and Marketing Director of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce.

City Councilor Johnnie Parks has spent the last forty-three years serving Broken Arrow as a City Councilor, Vice Mayor, and as a member of the Planning Commission. Councilor Parks served as the Ward One City Councilor from 1979 to 1994, he was a member of the Planning Commission from 1995 to 2011 and was elected to the At Large seat for City Council in 2011 and this is the seat he currently still holds.
