Three years after Oklahoma became a state, in 1910, a man by the name of Henry Kamp, arrived in Oklahoma by train. He was a German immigrant who was headed to the Pacific Northwest; however, when he stopped in Oklahoma City, he never left. From that time, his brother, William, and he started a small grocery store at the corner of NW 25th and Classen Boulevard.
