Enjoy meeting Broken Arrow’s best at Expo ’07.

The Broken Arrow Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its Expo ’07 event on Saturday, August 18.  Held at Northeastern State University, the event will showcase the community’s businesses and services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“This is a wonderful opportunity, not only for companies, but for the public,” says Kathy Reynolds, vice president of programs at the Broken Arrow Area Chamber of Commerce.  “The event focuses on products and services offered by Broken Arrow businesses.  We are pleased to be at NSU this year, as patrons will experience even more amenities: more parking, more technology, including wireless internet and an on-site café that will be open to all visitors.”

Local businesses are important to any community.  They know the needs of their cities better than national chains and cater to specific demographics.  Using the services of local businesses has great monetary impact on the community, and profits from customer purchases positively impact local and regional economies.  As in the case of regionally-produced honey, marketed products and services seem to be more “in-tune” with their area’s specific environment.  Owners and operators of local businesses have greater interaction with their communities, and they are able to sponsor or participate in neighborhood projects, civic events, schools and other foundations with on-the-spot knowledge.

Just some of the exhibitors that will be participating in Expo ’07 include: Pampered Chef, LIFE Senior Services, Arkansas Valley State Bank, St. Gregory’s University, Sure-Step of Oklahoma, Broken Arrow Business Women’s Association, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Identity Thief Shield and Pre-Paid Legal Services, as well as Persson and Associates.

Expo ‘07 is a good example of the Broken Arrow Area Chamber’s mission “to promote quality business and community development.”  Although chamber business members will receive lower booth costs, both members and nonmembers will be participating.

Chamber member services are numerous, and benefits include participation in events sponsored by the Broken Arrow Area Chamber of Commerce.  Many of these events are widely-attended, such as Rooster Days, the longest-running family festival in Oklahoma, Buy Broken Arrow campaign for holiday shopping, an annual awards banquet, a strategic planning retreat and celebrations for ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings that focus on new and expanding businesses and much more.   In addition, many customers and patrons consider local chamber membership a key characteristic to a business profile.

Northeastern State University in Broken Arrow is located at 3100 E.
