Blue Bell’s “Taste of Summer” 20th Anniversary Celebrates with 20 Flavors!

Sunshine, swimming, boating, picnics, holidays – there are so many things to love about summertime, and enjoying ice cream on a hot day or evening definitely ranks as one of the season’s top pleasures. On July 16, the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce, 1-800-Water Damage, and Blue Bell Ice Cream are happy to present their 20th annual Taste of Summer, an all-you-can-eat ice cream festival, featuring the many delicious flavors of Blue Bell.

Blue Bell Creameries created the festival 20 years ago as an annual way to say thanks to the community of Broken Arrow and beyond for their support. In addition to the main event of ice cream, live entertainment, cooling stations, food trucks, vendors and a Get Active Zone for all ages will also be featured. Typically, the local dance and music studios are invited to participate in providing the entertainment.

“We have over 20 flavors of Blue Bell Ice Cream to try, as well as other Blue Bell novelty items,” says Lindsay Cunningham, Communications and Marketing Director of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce.

“We have a Get Active Zone with local partners that bring fun activities to get the kiddos moving around and teach them healthy habits. We will have arts and crafts for the kids to do again this year, and we will also have outdoor vendors for shopping. We have several food trucks, as well.”

Novelty flavors from Blue Bell that will be featured are: Moo Bars, Crunch Bars, Banana Pops, Fudge Bars, Bullets and Ice Cream Sandwiches. Blue Bell Creameries has always been dedicated to creating high quality ice cream; the company’s products consistently ranks as one of the top three best selling ice creams in the country. The Broken Arrow plant has been open since 1992, and the company itself has been in the business of providing cold, delicious treats as its sole product since 1958.

Taste of Summer is one of the ultimate family and friends fun festivals, with a huge block party vibe. Ice cream has a unique quality of its own – just one bite can bring back memories of summers past, lazy days at the lake, summertime picnics, and days spent with lifelong friends.

Advance tickets are $5.00 in advance before July 1, $7 after July 1, and $8 at the gate on the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased on the website, www.tasteofsummerba.com.
