Walk A Mile in Her Shoes® is an annual event hosted by Safenet Services, Inc. to bring awareness to the subject of sexual assault and to encourage victims to seek help. Safenet is a light in the dark for victimized women in Rogers and Mayes counties, providing services for the healing of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. “This event is a fun way to get the community involved in bringing awareness by dressing up and walking for these women,” said Alexandra Seifried, a Development Specialist for Safenet. Safenet Services, Inc. has been providing hope and opportunity to victims of domestic violence year-round since 1991. Safenet is most recognized for providing women and children in need with a shelter, crisis hotline, counseling, education, and advocacy programs. The completion of their new facility, The Donald W. Reynolds Safety Center provides additional services, including supervised visitation rooms and a secure outdoor play area for children.
