Safenet Services is proud to announce that it has become the first agency in Rogers and Mayes Counties to receive certification from the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General to provide comprehensive services to adult survivors of human trafficking. This achievement expands access to critical services and strengthens the region's response.

Help for Adult Survivors of Human Trafficking

For more than 35 years, Safenet has provided safety, advocacy, emergency shelter, counseling, and hope to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. With this certification, the agency now offers specialized, trauma-informed services for adult survivors of human trafficking, ensuring individuals can receive comprehensive care close to home.

"Human trafficking is happening in communities across Oklahoma, often hidden in plain sight," said Jody Moore, Executive Director of Safenet Services. "This certification represents our commitment to ensuring survivors have access to specialized, compassionate care when they need it most. No survivor should have to leave their community to find safety, healing, and hope."

The certification follows months of specialized training, policy development, and a comprehensive review by the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General. Safenet's team is now equipped to provide emergency shelter, crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, case management, safety planning, and coordinated referrals tailored to the complex needs of adult human trafficking survivors.

"This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication of our staff, board of directors, community partners, Oklahoma Coalition Against Trafficking and the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General," Moore said. "Together, we are building a stronger network of support for survivors and creating safer communities throughout northeastern Oklahoma."

Who does human trafficking affect?

Human trafficking can affect individuals of any age, gender, race, or socioeconomic background. Recognizing the warning signs and knowing how to respond can save lives.

Safenet invites community members, healthcare providers, educators, businesses, faith communities, civic organizations, and law enforcement agencies to join the effort to combat human trafficking. Whether by requesting awareness training, supporting survivor services, volunteering, or making a financial contribution, everyone has a role to play in preventing coercive control and restoring hope.
