Volunteers for Youth PAL+ Mentoring Program Celebrates National Mentoring Month with a Lunch & Learn

January is National Mentoring Month! This year the PAL+ Mentoring Program is celebrating the annual campaign aimed at expanding quality mentoring opportunities to connect more of our community’s young people with caring adults by hosting the first Lunch & Learn of the year, Jan. 21, 2022. The monthly Lunch & Learn events give members of the community the opportunity to learn about the PAL+ Mentoring program. Local Schools Awarded Money to Compete in Rogers County Prevention PSA Competition

Six of the eleven school systems represented in Rogers County chose to participate in a competition sponsored by the Volunteers for Youth Partnership for Success (VFY-PFS). The competition was designed to promote prevention and/or awareness of dangers associated with the misuse of prescription opioids and/or the dangers/consequences of underage drinking. The VFY Partnership for Success was able to provide $500 to each participating school to offset any expenses for supplies and/or equipment incurred in the making of the video(s). Another $500 was awarded for the first-place PSA in each category (opioid misuse and underage drinking), and $250 was awarded for second place in each category. Click to learn more.

Volunteers for Youth’s Annual Chair-ity Auction Fundraiser Brings Back the Roaring Twenties
