Peter and the Star Catcher Opens at TCC February 27-March 2 If you’ve ever wondered how Peter Pan learned to fly and gained eternal youth, all is revealed in “Peter and the Starcatcher.” The whimsical award winning Broadway play tells the backstory of not only Peter but also Tinkerbell, the Lost Boys, the villainous Captain Hook, a notorious crocodile and other figures associated with Neverland. The Tulsa Community College theatre production runs February 27-28, March 1 at 8pm and March 2nd at 2pm in the VanTrease PACE Main Stage on the Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus. Based on a 2004 children’s novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, the play centers on a young orphan and his friends who are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training. She’s part of a secret society tasked with protecting a magical dust of extraordinary power known as “starstuff.” Their bravery will be sorely tested by a group of pirates led by the fearsome Black Stache — later to become Captain Hook. The play, exploring duty, love and the bonds of friendship, serves as a prequel to the classic Peter Pan stories by Scottish novelist and playwright J.M. Barrie. The 18-actor ensemble playing a total of about fifty gender bending roles in addition to occasionally serving as inanimate objects, such as doors and walls. The play is family friendly. This is a true Sheep to Shawl Event. Over the three-day period at least three shawls will be created entirely from the wool shorn on the first morning of the event. It is rare to find a true Sheep to Shawl experience. Shearing and demonstrations take place inside the Amish built tour barn, which houses some of the animals as well as the wool processing, farm museum, and the gift shop. There are Short Course Fiber Classes available; learn drop spindling, hand carding, needle felting, or weaving during the event. Be sure to visit the Farm Animal Barn & pet the barnyard animals. Tour the educational interactive Farm Museum & Four-Story Observation Silo, as well as the Bible Garden. Bring the entire family. Children’s activities include weaving, games, wool project, and coloring contest. This is a free event. Donations are welcome - suggested donation of $5 per person. Groups of twenty or more, please pre-register. Volunteers are needed to demonstrate fiber arts. If you spin, weave, knit, crochet, or needle felt you may join our Sheep to Shawl Team. Anyone who works with fiber is welcome. Inquire for additional information. Come shop at Shepherd’s Shop featuring a host of “woolly” and farm related handmade crafted by Shepherd’s Cross and over 50 local crafters; farm fresh USDA processed and Animal Welfare Approved meat (lamb and beef), Amish jams, health foods, yarns, and much more! Additionally, the shop features a mission section, where 100% of the sale price is returned to the indigenous craftsmen (countries include Azerbaijan, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, Malawi, Uganda and more). Our Shepherd’s Cross yarns are natural, chemical free, home grown and hand-picked here on the farm. The shop also offers roving, batts, felting supplies, spinning and weaving supplies, and much more. Fiber Arts classes, Animal Husbandry classes, and Shearing lessons are available at the farm throughout the year. Don't miss a profoundly emotional performance of Dvořák's "Stabat Mater" presented by the Tulsa Opera at the Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa. The opera tells the story of the crucifixion through the eyes of Mother Mary. Joining the Tulsa Opera Chorale will be the Tulsa Opera Orchestra as well as four talented soloists under the baton of Aaron Beck. The opera is based on text attributed to the medieval Italian Franciscan monk Jacopone da Todi, which explores themes of grief, compassion, and faith. Despite the solemn subject matter, the overall tone of the work is positive and life-affirming. The performance will be sung in Latin with English translation provided. Don't miss this breathtaking opera that spans a range of powerful emotions in Tulsa this spring.

Peruse this year's Trail of Tears Art Show and view categories that historically have included basketry, pottery, graphics, sculpture, miniatures and the annual "Trail of Tears" theme.

The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse Proudly Presents Ken Ludwig’s “Moon Over Buffalo” Call our Box Office 918-258-0077 to purchase tickets or Buy Online www.bacptheatre.com Adults $22, Child/Student/Senior/Military $20 *Groups of 10+ Save $2 per Ticket! * Performance dates June 6-15, 2025 Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. / Sundays at 2:00 p.m. 1800 S. Main St. Broken Arrow, OK 74012 The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse is happy to present the hilarious comedy Moon Over Buffalo for two weekends in June. Performance dates are June 6 -15: Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Playhouse located at 1800 S. Main Street in Broken Arrow. The madcap comedy Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig is set in the summer of 1953 and centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the traveling stage. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in repertory theatre in Buffalo, New York. Down on their luck doesn’t begin to describe it. The great movie director Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he just might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Naked ambition takes over as George and Charlotte do everything in their power to make Capra love them. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, they are on the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue. Throw in the antics of the sharp-tongued, hard of hearing mother-in-law Ethel and a surprise visit from their daughter Rosalind and her clueless fiancé Howard, plus the hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing, and everything that could go wrong does go wrong. With a plethora of pratfalls, slamming doors aplenty, and backstage shenanigans, Ken Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo is a fast-paced, hilarious screwball comedy in the old tradition, a throwback farce, a valentine to the stage, and the larger-than-life personalities that inhabit the world of the theatre. The BACP is pleased to welcome back director Don Tabberer. Don recently directed The Girl on the Train and Christmas in My Hometown. Don has assembled a stellar cast to bring this uproarious play to life on our stage. The cast includes: Noah Barnes, Zoe Burdess, Jody Graham, Paul Henry, Chae Page, Evan Paik, Ruth Seefeldt and Kevin Thrasher. Ken Ludwig's Moon Over Buffalo is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.www.concordtheatricals.com. This production is made possible in part by grants from the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
