15th Annual Chili Cook-Off

November 6, 2015

First Company in Oklahoma to offer residential gigabit Internet is hosting 15th Annual Chili Cook-Off to Benefit the Bixby Outreach Center! The first company in Oklahoma to offer residential gigabit Internet is continuing their commitment to also providing community leadership and participation. BTC Broadband is hosting their 15th annual “Bettering the Community” Chili Cook-Off on Friday, November 6, from 11:30-1. The event will be held on the East side of their S. Memorial location, 11134 S. Memorial Dr. The event is open to the public and all of the proceeds will go to the Bixby Outreach Center. For a $7 donation anyone can come and enjoy all-you-can-eat chili and toppings, dessert and a drink. Local businesses and BTC Broadband employees donate the chili for the contest and the public is invited to come and enjoy the good food and fun. “It’s a great way to raise money for a very worthy local cause, while fostering good community spirit among businesses and the public” said Laurie Hendrickson, BTC Broadband Marketing Manager. “We look forward to this event each year and are proud to support the area any way we can.” Unbiased local chili enthusiasts will judge all of the chili entries so bragging rights are at stake! Plus, there is a People’s Choice Award so anyone who eats can also vote for their favorite chili! If you are part of a local business interested in entering chili in this year’s contest, please contact Laurie Hendrickson at eat0@eau0eav0eaw0. In business for over 100 years, BTC Broadband is a high-tech broadband communications company, serving residents in Bixby and the surrounding area, and businesses throughout N.E. Oklahoma. They offer local and long distance telephone, high-speed internet, data networking, hosted and managed telephone systems, DIRECTV and more. In December, BTC Broadband became the FIRST company in the state of Oklahoma to offer Internet speeds up to 1 gigabit (1,000 Mbps), thereby establishing Bixby Metro in the elite group of national gigabit cities. youtube.com/watch?v=9VoyhOcrEKc
