June 5: Starlight Jazz Orchestra – 72 years in existence, the jazz orchestra is made up of the area’s best musicians and pack the Guthrie Green when they play. They will fill Central Park with Jazz and fun. Young musicians should come speak with players during break and after to soak up some inspiration. Tuesdays in the Park is a long-running success for arts in Broken Arrow. Each Tuesday evening in June a musical performance is presented on an outdoor stage in Central Park. The grassy slope of the park provides an excellent amphitheater for the crowds relaxing and listening...and often dancing. Tuesdays in the Park is free to attend and appropriate for families. The Rose District in Downtown Broken Arrow offers visitors a great opportunity to spend extra time shopping and enjoying the vibrant community. USA Today has listed the Rose District as Oklahoma’s entry for “Charming Main Streets Across the US”, so don’t miss the chance to check it out before the concert. Music lovers are encouraged to bring blankets or folding chairs. Attendance ranges from 350 adults to 600, but each year the event is growing. A variety of food vendors donate a portion of profits to ARTSOK to support this event. All other expenses are funded by donors and grants. This year’s vendors include Broken Arrow Civitans famous hamburgers, Stu B Que and Kona Ice. AVB Bank is the major event donor and supporter of ARTSOK.

In the 13th year of Saint Francis Tulsa Tough, be ready to #MakeYourOwnLuck! Racers from around the world will compete under the lights of downtown Tulsa’s Blue Dome District. Thousands of spectators will fill the streets to watch the races up close and personal. The free festival opens at 5 p.m. and is guaranteed fun and entertainment for spectators of all ages. The start and finish line is on Third Street just east of Elgin Avenue. Saturday’s Gran Fondo takes riders southwest of downtown through Jenks, Sapulpa, Prue, Skiatook and Sand Springs. The course is divided into three different distances and designed for riders of all experience levels. Make sure to check out the Tulsa State Fair rest stop at Pretty Water – Lake Sahoma, full of games and food...the perfect midway spot for friends and family to cheer on their favorite rider. Criterium racing begins at 10 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. Racers take on an L-Shaped course through the heart of Tulsa’s historic Tulsa Arts District. Family friendly activities will occur all day at Guthrie Green including the Saint Francis Bear Clinic. The adults should check out SoundPony Hill and the new Oskar Blues Beer Garden, which are both along Main Street. Admission is free to all events. Saint Francis Tulsa Tough will conclude its weekend of racing on Sunday. Riders will take on the Gran Fondo at 7:30 a.m. and go across the Skiatook Dam, through Sand Springs, Prattville, and return on Avery Drive. The course is divided into two different distances and designed for riders of all skill levels. Criterium racing begins at 8 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. Home of the legendary Cry Baby Hill, the course runs along the Arkansas River and Tulsa’s River Parks. The Townie Ride is a FREE 5.8-mile ride the entire family can enjoy. This ride begins at 2:15 p.m. The start line is just north of Galveston Avenue and Riverside Drive. There will be family friendly activities along Riverside throughout the day to enjoy. Vacation Bible School at Word of Life Baptist Church is a free event for kids in grades K4-6th. VBS starts every day at 9 AM and ends at 12 PM on June 18-22.
