Celebrate the coming of the new year with Ringing In At Redbud in Owasso. This New Year's Eve bash will feature a dazzling evening of fun in Redbud Festival Park. Live entertainment will include performances by country-pop star Gracee Shriver as well as the Dueling Pianos by Tom Basler Music. Cabin Boys Brewery will host a beer tent where you can sip refreshing brews. Tulsa Shootout

The Tulsa Shootout is one of the largest micro sprint racing events in the country. Arvest Winterfest

The Tulsa Holiday Winter Circuit is held at the Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex at Expo Square in Tulsa. This AQHA-approved horse show features a full slate of Western and English events as well as roping and working cowhorse. Also included are the Versatility Ranch Horse classes that showcase the talents of a working ranch horse. Watch the graceful, well-groomed horses and talented riders as they display their abilities for the crowds.

Skate under the festive twinkle lights at Broken Arrow's only outdoor skating rink. Bring your ice skates or rent them directly on-site and glide across the ice under the pavilion at the Rose District Plaza. Claremore Lake Lights
January 1-6, 2026
Claremore Lake lights will return for the second year! Starting on November 26th, residents and visitors can drive through the Claremore Lake Park and experience the Christmas lights and displays from the comfort of their warm vehicle. Lights will begin each night at dusk and remain on until 10 p.m. through Jan. 6, 2026. The Claremore Lake lights will begin at the Blue Starr Road entrance and displays will be featured throughout the park. Multiple photo opportunities will be available, and visitors are encouraged to use the hashtag #ClaremoreLakeLights on social media to capture and share memories. There is no cost to enjoy the Claremore Lake light display. Before you head out to the Claremore Lake be sure to check out one of our local eateries!

Preserving the Voices of American Folk Music: A Conversation with Michael Scully
January 10, 2026 | 2 p.m.
Join us at the Woody Guthrie Center on Jan. 10, 2026, at 2 p.m. for a special conversation between author and historian Michael Scully and Senior Director Cady Shaw as they explore how Scully’s remarkable archive reflects and strengthens the center’s mission to preserve and share the voices that shape American folk traditions. Scully, who generously donated his research papers and interview recordings used for his book, “The Never-Ending Revival: Rounder Records and the Folk Alliance,” to the center in 2018, will discuss the stories behind his work and why the Woody Guthrie Center felt like the truest home for his materials. As part of a recent grant-funded preservation project, Scully’s archival interview recordings will soon be available to researchers and the public. This event promises an inspiring look at the enduring legacy of folk music and the importance of preserving its history.

Chili Bowl

The Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals at Tulsa Expo Square's River Spirit Expo is an annual competition for Midget Sprint Car racing. Held each year for over 30 years, these races attract over 300 talented drivers from around the world. Five qualifying night races lead up to the championship competition on Saturday. Western Hills Winter Bluegrass Festival
January 15-17, 2026
Come out and enjoy gospel and traditional bluegrass music during the Western Hills Winter Bluegrass Festival. Held over three days in January, this bluegrass festival is a fast-moving display of musical talent with a handful of bands showcasing their skills on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. The Western Hills Winter Bluegrass Festival, held on the grounds of the beautiful Lodge at Sequoyah State Park, will feature top bands from the region. Bring your favorite instrument and participate in jam sessions held in the hotel lobby. A variety of musical workshops will also be held throughout the festival, so get your ticket or a three-day pass and brush up on your bluegrass skills. Workshops will be held on instruments such as the five-string banjo, flattop guitar, fiddle, mandolin, dobro, and bass.

This musical revue explores the rich legacy of Western film and television music, with selections ranging from Gene Autry and The Sons of the Pioneers to sophisticated favorites by Cole Porter and Johnny Mercer. The setlist is full of surprises—including a beautiful Top 20 hit by the New Christy Minstrels—and pays tribute to the unforgettable soundtracks of TV Westerns from the ‘50s through the ‘70s. With Janet in fine voice and John’s signature storytelling, the show combines nostalgia, warmth, and deep musicality. They’re joined by two of Oklahoma’s finest musicians. Scott McQuade returns on piano, bringing his signature sensitivity and skill to the arrangements. Joining him is Shelby Eicher, a renowned fiddler and mandolinist best known for his 15-year tenure alongside Roy Clark and his current leadership of the Tulsa Playboys. Scotfest Burns Night

Don your kilt, penguin suit, or fine evening gown to celebrate the life and writing of late Scottish bard Robert “Rabbie” Burns with fellow lovers of poetry on Scotfest Burns Night. Considered the national poet of Scotland, Burns’ works are narratives of farm life, religion, culture, and class. Burns was born on January 25, 1759 and tribute is paid to him on this day every year. Tulsa Spotlight Theater presents a weekly performance of "The Drunkard," an old-fashioned melodrama heavy on audience reactions. "The Drunkard" is an adaptation of "Ten Nights in a Barroom" which was written in the 1840s as a preachy piece meant to discourage the use of alcohol, but is now performed as a raucous comedy. "The Drunkard" has the distinction of being the longest continually performed play in North America having run since November 14, 1953. Held since 1968, Muskogee's Honor Heights Park boasts 40 acres of manicured gardens with over 30,000 azaleas in 625 varieties. Visit this stunning park throughout the month of April for one of the top events in the South. The annual festival celebrates the blooming of azaleas, tulips, dogwoods, and wisteria as these buds begin to unfurl during the warmer temperatures of spring to the delight of visitors. Often considered one of the top spring events in the nation, Muskogee's Azalea Festival attracts visitors from around the world. Make your way to Honor Heights Park to enjoy a drive along paved roadways that wind around the blooming flowers, walkways perfect for runners or birders, five lakes, a variety of picturesque ponds, a butterfly sanctuary, and a tree arboretum. The Azalea Festival not only highlights the beauty of nature in spring, but also plays host to a parade, a variety of food vendors, carriage rides through the blooms and more. The annual Azalea Festival parade features everything from floats, antique cars, clowns, and pageant queens, to horseback riders and cyclists. In recent years, this much-loved festival has expanded to include a chili cook-off, quilt exhibits, arts, and craft displays, a 5K, 15K and fun run, a bike ride and plenty of live entertainment. In mid-April, the park will welcome visitors for Party in the Park, a tasting of Oklahoma food and wine in a breathtaking setting. Schubert's Symphony No. 9,

Daniel Hege, guest conductor Rebekah Lorenz, horn Mussorgsky | Prelude to Khovanshchina Gipps | Horn Concerto, op.58 Schubert | Symphony No. 9 in C major, D.944, “The Great” Honored by the League of American Orchestras, guest conductor Daniel Hege returns to Chapman Music Hall to lead the orchestra in a dark and mysterious concert replicating the tone from the opera, Khovanshchina. Rich harmonies evoke a feeling of dawn over Moscow for the audience in Tulsa's Performing Arts Center. Thereafter, enjoy the expressive work of Ruth Gipps's Horn Concerto, Op. 58 which features a three-movement piece each with its own character and mood, ending on a likely and rhythmic passage. Hege leads the orchestra into the final and majestic selection of Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 in C major, D.944, “The Great.” This four-movement piece travels through a bold, a relaxed, a lively and a triumphant orchestral journey. A concert not to be missed!

Kick off to the Route 66 Centennial in Claremore!
April 11, 2026 | 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
In 1928, a Cherokee farm boy ran the entirety of U.S. Route 66 – Los Angeles to Chicago – and onward to New York City. The halfway point for that era’s biggest sporting event was Claremore, Oklahoma. Most of the field of world class runners included participants from over 24 countries could not endure the 84 grueling days of the 3,423 mile Trans-Continental Footrace. The Mother Road crossed through the Mojave Desert and wound along vast plains, offering blistering heat, sleet, and snow. Only 55 runners would cross the finish line to Madison Square Garden. Andy Payne won the race 16 hours ahead of them all.
