Saturday, April 6, 2024 and Saturday, April 13, 2024 | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. | OSU-Tulsa Main Hall 2438 Whether at a local pub, an upscale restaurant, or one’s home, the bar is an essential part of dining, entertaining, and hospitality. This course takes an in-depth look at the bar and the many spirits and concoctions that are poured and mixed behind it. Beginning with an overview of spirits produced around the world to the methodology of making cocktails, you’ll leave this class with an understanding of crafting proper drinks and executing a professional and profitable bar. Students must be 21 years of age or older. Proof of age will be required. A micro-badge will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. If you have questions or a medical condition that requires you to have access to food and/or beverages at all times, please contact Tony Collins and special accommodations can be made for your situation.

Herbal Affair & Festival

The annual Herbal Affair & Festival in Sand Springs features over 100 vendors selling medicinal, cooking, and ornamental herbs. Perennial, heirloom, and annual plants will be sold, along with garden and herb-related products and supplies. A variety of food trucks, including Amish, Greek, Italian, Cajun, Indian and, of course, American cuisine will be available to hungry and thirsty visitors. There will also be a wine garden featuring several Oklahoma wineries. Live music and entertainment including cloggers, magic demonstrations and Irish music will provide a festive atmosphere to the event. Bring the kids to the Herbal Affair & Festival in Sand Springs for a range of fun games, face painting and group building projects.

Bixby BBQ ‘N Blues Festival

One of the largest barbecue competitions in Oklahoma, the Bixby BBQ 'n Blues Festival features two days of mouthwatering barbecue and great music. Head to Washington Irving Park to witness over 80 barbecue teams from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas compete for the top prize and enjoy live blues music by local bands. Visitors to this annual festival will enjoy free cooking demos, delicious barbecue entries and a wide variety of fair food. Make sure to take part in the People's Choice barbecue competition on Saturday, when barbecue entries are judged by festival-goers who purchase a People's Choice Award taster kit. Bring your kids to the festival's popular Kids Zone, where they can enjoy numerous inflatable jumpers for a small fee per child. Young ones can also stretch their skills during the Kid's-Q, where children ages 6 to 15 will compete to win best barbecue. Come for the barbecue and stay for the great live blues music. Nashville's John Nemeth takes the festival stage on Friday, while The Dylan Whitney Band closes out the event on Saturday night.

Porter Peach Festival

The Porter Peach Festival celebrates the area’s legacy crop of peaches with a myriad of activities and events perfect for a summer day with the family. You can shop for fresh, juicy peaches, peach products and other produce at Livesay Orchards, located three miles south of Porter, then get your fill on tasty peach desserts at The Peach Barn, approximately seven miles east of Porter. On Porter's downtown Main Street you can shop at many arts and crafts vendors, enjoy street games, live music and taste a wide variety of fair food. Come out on Thursday for a talent show, while Friday's events include a culinary contest. On Saturday, there will be a peachy parade, free peaches and ice cream, and a prize peach auction.
