From its 1929 beginnings, Tulsa Garden Club has staged flower shows to extend its gardening education mission. This Design Specialty Flower Show features entries from across the state translating Childhood Memories through creative floral arranging and botanical arts. Entries are in classes that conform with National Garden Clubs (NGC) Handbook for Flower Shows. Entries will be eligible for a variety of awards as evaluated by NGC-accredited judges. Southwood Landscape and Nursery Center hosts Childhood Memories in a safely masked and distanced venue.

Community event offers homeowner association tips and information · Broken Arrow’s 22nd Annual Homeowners Association Workshop is Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Stoney Creek Conference Center, 200 W Albany Street. · Workshop provides a great opportunity for HOA members as well as current and potential homeowners to get their property and neighborhood questions answered. The 2021 Broken Arrow Homeowners Association Workshop is coming soon! The workshop will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, April 24th, at the Stoney Creek Conference Center, 200 W. Albany St. This is the 22nd year the City has hosted the workshop. This annual workshop provides a great opportunity for HOA members as well as current and potential homeowners to get their property and neighborhood questions answered. The workshop is open to all; residents do not need to be a homeowner to attend. Participants can visit with presenters to receive advice on various topics associated with HOAs such as: · Legal and Operational issues for Homeowners Associations · Public Safety (Police and Fire Departments) · Animal Control · Building Permits · Planning and Development · Code Enforcement · Neighborhood Beautification · Stormwater Management and Low Impact Development (LID) Certification for Neighborhoods · HOA Insurance · Recycling This year, several speaker’s sessions will be live-streamed on Facebook with topics such as Homeowners Insurance, the Yard by Yard conservation program, HOAs and the Law, Conflict Resolution, and Recycling. Participants can also speak to representatives from various City departments and outside service providers. Light refreshments will be available. Attendees will also be eligible to win door prizes, including a rain barrel from the Utilities Department, and several Broken Arrow-inspired themed gift baskets. The event is free and open to the public.

Consider it spring cleaning, but in the fall. The free Dump Day is back! Broken Arrow residents will be able to dispose of unwanted items during the City’s semi-annual Dump Day on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Waste Management Quarry Landfill. The landfill is located at 13720 E. 46th St. North in Tulsa. Between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., residents can dump off waste free of charge by presenting their driver’s license or a recent utility bill bearing a Broken Arrow address. City officials will be on site to verify residency. Items not eligible to be dumped include: • Hazardous materials • Liquids (such as paint in liquid form, gasoline, oil, etc.) • Batteries • Fluorescent light bulbs • Untreated medical waste • Compressed gas cylinders Refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, or Freon containing items will be accepted with the proper documentation that the refrigerant has been properly removed by a licensed CFC technician. There will be a $2 fee for each car tire and a $4 fee for each truck tire.
