Camp Bandage

May 15, 2021 | 12 - 4 p.m.

Emergencies happen. It can be a tornado, house fire, flood, or a car accident. No one wants to think about accidents or disasters. But being prepared for an emergency can help protect your family. The whole point of emergency preparation is to do as much as possible before an emergency happens. That’s why Camp Bandage was started. It is a way to educate the community about being prepared for emergencies and encourage you to lead that process. We want you to share this information with family, friends, and neighbors. Working together, we can be prepared and keep your family safe. Camp Bandage was started in 1983 by Dr. A. L. Gerner and his wife Shirley as a one day event designed to educate the community on how common accidents and injuries could be prevented. Businesses and organizations across the community are on hand during Camp Bandage to teach everything from injury prevention, first aid and CPR as well as bike, water, fire and home safety. The Broken Arrow Police and Fire departments are on hand to simulate responding to a car accident in order to educate the community on how emergency responders work together.

THE CENTENNIAL OF THE TULSA RACE MASSACRE AND BEYOND

May 26-29, 2021 | 1:30 - 3 p.m.

Samuel Sinyangwe is a policy analyst and data scientist who works with communities of color to fight systemic racism through cutting-edge policies and strategies. At this year's Symposium, Mr. Sinyangwe will provide perspective on how policy and data can provide a lens into how looking back at historical events can shape the work needed to improve the future. Specifically, Mr. Sinyangwe will illuminate how local and national data can inform how looking back at the vents of the Tulsa 1921 Race Massacre should shape how we move beyond 2021 and consider the next 100 years in Tulsa. This year, you will have the opportunity to attend the Symposium virtually or limited, in-person attendance. United in Faith Worldwide! Jehovah’s Witnesses Hold Global Virtual Event in 240 Lands, 500+ Languages TULSA, Okla. — July 2, 2021 — Breaking a century-old tradition in the name of health and safety, the largest convention organization in the world has moved its annual in-person event to a virtual format for the second time in as many years, canceling nearly 6,000 conventions in 240 lands. For many years, summers in Tulsa have featured Jehovah’s Witnesses streaming into the city to take over hotels and fill restaurants as they held their conventions at various venues. In 2020, the pandemic unexpectedly interrupted that tradition, moving the international religious organization to cancel in-person conventions throughout the world and launch a global virtual event. This was a first for Jehovah’s Witnesses, who have held public conventions in stadiums, arenas, convention centers, and theaters around the world since 1897. “Powerful by Faith!” is the theme of the 2021 global event, which will be delivered in more than 500 languages to households throughout the globe over six weekends during July and August 2021, uniting some 15-20 million people in 240 countries. Since the convention is typically held from Friday through Sunday, the program will be available in six installments corresponding to morning and afternoon sessions. “Friday” morning’s session is available for streaming or download beginning June 28, 2021. Jeremy and Lacy Merritt of Tulsa are looking forward to the convention. Reflecting on this year’s program theme, Lacy said, “I feel like many people view faith in an abstract way. Yet, when investigated, the scriptures reveal how it’s based on evidence and reason.” Jeremy appreciates the convention’s virtual format and hopes the public will tune in and find solace amid world conditions. “After watching global events unfold over this past year, I hope that as many people as possible watch the convention sessions on jw.org. The problems and challenges that plague our global society continue to get worse and seem insurmountable. I know these convention sessions will reinforce why we need faith and how we can obtain it,” Jeremy said. The continued risk of bringing thousands of people together in cities around the world prompted the organization to opt for a virtual platform for the second consecutive year. However, the move has not curbed the enthusiasm for the annual event. Congregations around the world are inviting the public to join them in this historic occasion. “Faith has helped our global brotherhood to continue to thrive even during a pandemic,” said Robert Hendriks for Jehovah’s Witnesses. “Our faith will continue to unite us in worship — even virtually — as millions gather in private homes around the world to enjoy a powerful and inspiring spiritual program.” All are invited to attend the event by going to jw.org on the web or JW Broadcasting on the free JW Library iOS or Android App, or on streaming platforms like Roku TV, Apple TV, and others. The program is free and accessible to all. The schedule for download and global streaming is listed below. Alice In Wonderland on Zoom

Every Thursday, Friday & Saturday | 7 - 8 p.m.
July 29, 30 & 31, 2021

Tulsa Community College’s Children’s Summer Theatre presents Alice in Wonderland, a Virtual Zoom production. Tulsa Community College Tulsa Children's Summer Theatre presents a virtual production of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and adapted by William Glennon. It is being directed by Mark Frank. The production will be presented on Zoom July 29, 30, 31st at 7pm. The Webinar Zoom address to join the fun for free in the comfort of your own home is 929 9437 1436. There will be a set and costume design presentation at 6:30pm. This new version of Alice in Wonderland with a cast of twenty-one children ages 7-17 is so close to the original in intention and feeling that you might suspect that Lewis Carroll himself had written it. And yet, it includes many unusual and imaginative devices that bring the fantasy characters of Wonderland to life. In this new adaptation, a group of performers seeks out Alice in order to provide "her turn" in Wonderland. And, as her adventure unfolds, they play the many characters she encounters and grows to love.  The play runs fifty minutes with no intermission. This is Children’s Summer Theatre’s twenty-sixth season and 8th season in Tulsa at TCC. Find us on Facebook https://fb.me/e/GG4U7BqF

“What Doesn’t Kill Me” presented by Safenet Services, Inc

October 30, 2021 | 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

“What Doesn’t Kill Me” is presented by Safenet Services, Inc in recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The showing will play on Tuesday, October 30th at the Will Rogers Memorial from 5:30-7:30pm. This is a free event with hors d’oeuvres. Please RSVP so we can have an accurate head count. Below is more information on the documentary. To RSVP, please click here. Every day, 5 million children in the U.S. experience domestic violence, either as witnesses or victims. Due to a horrific system that favors abusive fathers, a shocking number of mothers who seek to protect their children (and themselves) end up losing them. Most Americans are unaware that an abusive father, who contests custody from a protective mother, will win 70 percent of the time. This bold and provocative film is a long overdue exploration into why the most powerful country in the world is not protecting its most vulnerable mothers and children and thus enabling generations of abusers to continue their abuse. Along with intimate personal stories, family revelations with hard hitting facts and frank discussions on the child custody issue with feminists, lawyers, judges and domestic violence experts we follow the indomitable 86-year-old Charlotta Harrison, a survivors’ advocate who herself survived a 60-year abusive marriage. She speaks hauntingly about the pressures and fears that make it so difficult for women in danger to leave. With Charlotta, we meet women and children who have been separated, silenced, and pushed to extreme methods of escape—and who are fighting back. This sensitive film by British filmmaker Rachel Meyrick tells the story of the women and children who are fighting back against a court system biased toward male privilege and wealth. WHAT DOESN’T KILL ME exposes a national travesty compared by some to the Catholic Church scandal. A timely film for America; where radical misogyny is being exposed even in the highest offices and institutions in the country. For more information, visit www.whatdoesntkillme.com.

Midtown Bold Moms | Uplifting Professional Women Networking Event

November 30, 2021 | 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Welcome to Bold Moms!We seek to connect and elevate professional moms, grandmas, and ladies to give them a safe, fun environment to grow their businesses, without all the rules, regulations, and commitments that come with other networking groups. We know that being a professional woman, mother, and grandmother can be overwhelming with having to balance personal, professional, and family responsibilities. In addition to providing like-minded ladies to support each other, we’ll also seek to introduce you to your ideal clients in person whenever possible, and help you rapidly expand your network and resources to preserve as much time as possible for the balance of what can sometimes be overwhelming. Midtown Bold Moms meet monthly for lunch (and a glass of wine or cocktail, if you’d like) for 1 1/2 hours on the last Tuesday of each month. Please consider arriving early and sticking around for a bit to start and grow relationships, order lunch, and get your seat. We’ll start the official meeting promptly at 11:30 am. There is no long-term commitment, just come months you’d like and share what you do, business cards, other promotional items, and gratitude. We keep it simple because networking and growing your business around juggling all of your other responsibilities doesn’t have to be a difficult grind. We hope you’ll have some fun, make some new friends, efficiently expand your network, and dramatically impact your bottom line. Networking is definitely easier, more fun, and far more efficient with friends, so please consider inviting other ladies you feel might appreciate knowing about this event. Bold Moms allows for two representatives for each industry. For example, two realtors, two residential property casualty insurance agents, two life insurance agents, two nutritional supplements companies, etc. Seats are reserved on a first registered, first-served basis, so please consider getting your tickets right away. Events are $25 which includes lunch, beverage without alcohol, tax, and gratuity. 100% of Net Profits from each event plus any additional contributions are donated to our favorite local charities. FAQsIs this event restricted to moms only?Absolutely, not. We welcome all ladies committed to uplifting and encouraging moms, grandmas and other women in their professional endeavors. What can I bring to the event? Please bring plenty of business cards, flyers, and any promotional materials. If you don’t have any of that stuff, no worries! Just bring your winning attitude and be loved on by other professional ladies. Is this networking event industry exclusive?Yes, we do limit each industry to two ladies per industry. Meaning there will only be no more than two real estate agents, two insurance agents, two cosmetics, two nutrition, etc. How do I secure my industry? You secure your industry by attending two consecutive events. Your business cards can be placed in the member’s area. Similarly, you give up your industry by not attending two consecutive events. If for some reason you aren’t able to attend an event, you are able to send a substitute to preserve your industry. Is advance registration required?Yes. In order to secure your industry, you’ll need to pre-register at the conclusion of each event or online on BoldNetworking.com or Eventbrite. If you’re not registered, your seat is available for a visitor to attend. Can I represent multiple industries? In today’s day and age, many ladies have a side hustle or two or three. In order to protect overlapping industries and limit confusion, we ask that you maintain the primary industry you’ve registered with and only present and discuss your primary industry. In Connect Meetings, anything goes as long as it is pitch and recruiting free. What is a “Connect Meeting?”“Connect Meetings” are getting to know you, pitch and recruiting free appointments with a peer to share problems solved and ideal prospects. We get together over a cup of coffee, tea, or lunch so we can begin to know, like, and trust in each other personally and professionally without pressure to pass leads or do business. Is recruiting okay at events or “Connect Meetings?”Bold Moms loves network marketing and direct sales and completely understands you have every reason to be excited about the income side of your business. However, we ask that you stay strictly focused during your presentations and discussions on sharing information about services, products, and events. So, events are recruiting and opportunity free. During a Connect Meeting, you are welcome to talk about your opportunity ONLY after you’ve received explicit permission to discuss that aspect of your business. What can I expect from Bold Moms?As a Bold Mom, you should expect us to: Uplift and encourage you at all timesGet to know you through Connect Meetings, charitable and monthly after-hours eventsIntroduce you to your ideal prospects…”in person” whenever possible;Connect with you on social media to help promote youInvite guests to register for these events for you to meet and rapidly expand your network Is anyone compensated for leading, administering, or organizing Bold Moms?Nope. 100% of Net Profits are donated to a chosen charity quarterly.  Bold Networking bears all the administrative costs, website maintenance, and other indirect expenses for these events as our way of giving back to both our communities and our ladies who help make them thrive. Our goal is to make a meaningful contribution to charities in our metro area. Full accounting for every penny is available upon request. After the cost of lunches, taxes, gratuities, merchant services fees, and any actual operating expenses are deducted from registrations, the rest is donated to charity along with any additional contributions and fundraisers conducted throughout the quarter. Organizers don’t get compensated or even their lunches for free, and they certainly don’t win trips. How do we decide which charities are supported with the proceeds and additional donations? Each quarter we will choose a charity to support from nominated charities. Members, especially the nominators, are welcome to attend the delivery of funds. How do we nominate a local charity? You can enter your recommendations when you register for the event. Can I bring my kids? Is there childcare available? As much as we love kids, this event is specifically for you to have a little time to work on your business and grow adult relationships.  What’s the refund policy?Tickets are non-refundable. If the event is canceled for inclement weather or reasons beyond our control, refunds will not be issued. Instead, 100% of net profits will be donated to charity.

Bold Networking believes in the Five Laws of Stratospheric Success: The Law of Value, Compensation, Influence, Authenticity, and Receptivity. The more you add value, the more introductions you receive, and the greater your compensation will be.  If you’d like to pick up a copy, here’s a link. We’re NOT a “Tips” group! Midtown Bold Moms | Uplifting Professional Women Networking Event

December 15, 2021 | 11:30 a.m.
