Little Shop of Horrors

November 1-3, 2019

A meek floral assistant named Seymour stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Seymour as long as he keeps feeding it blood! This horror comedy rock musical by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman ran Off-Broadway for five years.

Will Rogers Motion Picture Festiva

November 1-3, 2019

The Will Rogers Motion Picture Festival will celebrate motion pictures from a number of different genres and age groups and will be held in the historic town of Claremore, Oklahoma on Route 66. Claremore was the hometown of Will Rogers, who was the #1 movie star in America in 1934, and home to the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. Claremore was also home to Lynn Riggs, who wrote the play that eventually became the movie, OKLAHOMA! The Festival is family friendly and it will be several days of movies, lectures, workshops and activities throughout the community. Awards & Prizes Motion Pictures to be shown at the Festival... Each winner will also receive the opportunity to air their Motion Picture on RSUTV, a regional public television station at Rogers State University. Rules & Terms Documentaries, Narratives and Comedy both short and feature length. Shorts are under 25 minutes and Features are over 45 minutes College Students Shorts under 25 minutes. Must be a registered student at Submission. There will be two categories for children's shorts. Ages 15-18 and 14 and under. Submissions must be under 25 minutes. Age category figured at the date of Submission. All submissions must be G - PG13 to be qualified. WRMPF reserves the right to determine qualification of any submission. Films must be submitted by digital file (mp4, mov). Finalists must also mail two DVD or Blu-Ray copies to the Festival and will not be returned. Finalists should submit any promotional materials, posters, flyers, etc and items will be distributed around town, used in promos and will not be returned. Films in language other than English must include English subtitles. To qualify as an "Oklahoma film", at least 50% of the film must be shot on a set or location within Oklahoma. Feedback: We are unable to give feedback on your submitted project. ​ All submissions must have been completed no earlier than January 1, 2017 to qualify. Multiple category submissions are allowed, but fee must be paid for each category submission. All entry Fees are non-refundable. Fees cover registration, notification that your entry has been received and notification of results. These fees must be paid during the entry process. By entering the WILL ROGERS MOTION PICTURE FESTIVAL (WRMPF) competition, all entrants agree to hold harmless the WILL ROGERS MOTION PICTURE FESTIVAL, Will Rogers Memorial Foundation, owners, employees, associated Boards of Directors, Officers, Staff and Volunteers from all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation with the festival. The submitter acknowledges that WRMPF is under no obligation to use the Material in any manner and further represents and warrants that the Material is original, that the submitter has the right and authority to submit the Material to WRMPF on the foregoing terms and conditions, each and all of which shall be binding on the submitter, his/her agents, heirs, successors, licensees and assigns. Giselle

Giselle, an innocent peasant girl, has her heart fatally broken when she discovers the man she fell in love with is the disguised Duke Albrecht, who is betrothed to another. As moonlight settles on Giselle’s grave, she must decide to forgive Albrecht or join the spirits of other abandoned women in their eternal search for vengeance. Eerie and tragically romantic, Giselle is one of the most often performed classical ballets in the world.

Bandstand

From Hamilton choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler comes a poignant and inspiring new American musical that explodes with infectious music and high-octane, heart-stopping dancing. It’s 1945. As America’s WWII soldiers come home to tickertape parades and overjoyed families, Private First Class Donny Novitski struggles to rebuild his life. With some fellow veterans, Donny forms a band unlike any the nation has ever seen, and the men finally feel like they have a place to call home.

Brown Bag It: Cherokee National Youth Choir

November 6, 2019 | 12:10 p.m.

The Brown Bag It free noontime concert series at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center happens the first Wednesday of the month. The series features some of Oklahoma’s finest professional musicians performing in the PAC's Westby Pavilion. The Cherokee National Youth Choir performs traditional songs in the Cherokee language. The choir was founded in 2000 as a way to keep our youth interested in and involved with Cherokee language and culture. The choir is an important symbol to the world at large, demonstrating that Cherokee language and culture continues to thrive in modern society. Since its inception the group has recorded numerous audio CDs. Choir members act as ambassadors, their beautiful and energetic voices uniting to show the strength of the Cherokee Nation and culture more than 160 years after a forced removal from our eastern homelands. The Cherokee National Youth Choir is made up of 40 Cherokee young people from northeastern Oklahoma communities. The choir members are middle and high school youth between grades 6 through 12. The students compete in rigorous auditions every year for a place in the choir. The Cherokee National Youth Choir is funded solely by the Cherokee Nation.

Dragons Love Tacos and Other Stories

Turkey Bingo

November 16, 2019 | 5 - 8 p.m.

The bingo event, named Turkey Bingo since it takes place a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, will serve as a fundraiser for the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce. Between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, approximately 30 games of bingo will be played with prizes for winners of all ages. Three frozen turkeys, one each hour, and a grand prize flat screen HDTV will be given away as bingo prizes. Additional prizes include gift cards to local businesses and more!
