Western Hills Winter Bluegrass Festival

January 19-23, 2023

Come out and enjoy gospel and traditional bluegrass music during the Western Hills Winter Bluegrass Festival. Bring your favorite instrument and participate in jam sessions held in the hotel lobby. A variety of musical workshops will also be held throughout the festival, so get your ticket or a three-day pass and brush up on your bluegrass skills. Workshops will be held on instruments such as the five-string banjo, flattop guitar, fiddle, mandolin, dobro, and bass.

Scottish Club of Tulsa’s Robert Burns Night

Ok So Tulsa presents "Story Slam" - Theme "Crazy, Stupid Love"

Everyone in the audience is invited to share a personal story related to the theme. If you have a story to tell, leave us your name at the door. Every potential storyteller's name gets thrown in the hat. 10 names are drawn and each storyteller has five minutes on the mic to tell a story and win the crowd. "Judges" are audience members who score the teller/tale on a 10-point scale. The highest scoring storyteller gets a cash prize and an invitation to participate in the yearly Grand Slam April/May 2023. Tickets are $7.00.

Visitors to Hippity Hoppity Horses will have the opportunity to take part in age-grouped egg hunts, spring themed games, guided horse rides, and enjoy food and beverages throughout the event. First Friday Art Crawl

Greg and Kate have moved to Manhattan after twenty-two years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg’s career as a financial trader is winding down, while Kate’s career, as a public-school English teacher, is beginning to offer her more opportunities. Greg brings home a dog he found in the park—or that has found him—bearing only the name “Sylvia” on her name tag. A street-smart mixture of Lab and poodle, (portrayed by a human actress) Sylvia becomes a major bone of contention between husband and wife. She offers Greg an escape from the frustrations of his job and the unknowns of middle age. To Kate, Sylvia becomes a rival for affection. And Sylvia thinks Kate just doesn’t understand the relationship between man and dog. The marriage is put in serious jeopardy until, after a series of hilarious and touching complications, Greg and Kate learn to compromise, and Sylvia becomes a valued part of their lives. The Playhouse welcomes Director H. Levi Smiley! Levi is not new to the BACP stage but this will be his first time directing for us, we look forward to helping him bring his vision for Sylvia to our stage. Levi is a current theatre major at Tulsa Community College. He was honored in the spring of 2022 to be chosen as the first student director for TCC Theatre's first annual all-student production, Miss Alma's Rules. The production was honored with twelve Meritorious Achievement Awards of recognition from the Kennedy Center American Collegiate Theatre Festival including Achievement in Directing for Smiley, and Production Adaptability for the entire cast and crew. Smiley will graduate with an Associate's Degree in Theatre in May of this year. He plans to continue his education to earn his BFA in Theatre and his MFA in Theatre Directing. Levi is honored to be chosen to direct at BACP and looks forward to bringing Sylvia to life for the Broken Arrow audience! TCC Theatre presents Original Student Play, The World of What Tulsa Community College Theatre presents, The World of What, an original stage play by TCC Theatre student, Micah Timmons, which will be performed in the PACE Studio Theatre at Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus April 20-21-22 at 8pm and April 23rd at 2pm. The play is student directed and student designed. The student director is Adrianna Moyer, the production stage manager is Genevieve Brewster, and the assistant stage manager is Michelle Davis. Moriah Jestus is the set and properties designer; Jo Jo Fetcher is the costume designer. Madalyn Baty is the Hair and make-up designer. Chelsea Cisson is the sound designer and Mallory Lindsay is the Light designer. The play The World of What tells the story of a daughter, Suzette, played by Anna Hrncir, having to move herself and sons, played by Matthew Skinner and Caleb Fuqua, into her mother and fathers' home, played by Rebeca Ritter and Brenen Hankins. She struggles trying to figure out a way to provide for and be a good parent to her sons, while attempting to reconcile a strained relationship with her parents. The play is rated PG and lasts ninety minutes with no intermission. Playing the EMT’s in the production are Evan Paik and Elizabeth Stiles. Germanfest

Hosted by the Castle of Muskogee, this event features a royal court, jousters and jesters, magicians, musicians and minstrels as well as many craftspeople and artisans. Living history demonstrations, live performances and great period food rounds out an excellent festival. The festival runs every weekend in May, through June 4, and is also open on Monday, May 29th, Memorial Day.

Switchyard Festival

Global Gatherings: Caribbean

SunFest

Known to many as Oklahoma's biggest outdoor picnic, Bartlesville's SunFest returns for a long weekend of relaxed, family-friendly entertainment. SunFest features live musical entertainment, a diverse selection of arts and crafts, children's games, storytellers, food and much more. Enjoy the sounds of jazz, rhythm and blues, rock, bluegrass and contemporary Christian music while over 20 individual artists and bands perform on three stages throughout Sooner Park. Another highlight of this summer celebration is the annual SunFest Car Show, held on Saturday.  Visitors can expect to see a wide variety of Camaros, Firebirds, Mustangs, modified vehicles, low-riders, imports and more. See which vehicles win the top three awards in several categories. Hogs 'n' Hot Rods

Head to historic downtown Collinsville for the annual Hogs 'n' Hot Rods event. Featuring several car and truck categories, hundreds of classic, custom, and vintage cars, thousands of motorcycles and vehicles from 1900 to the present, Hogs 'n' Hot Rods is hog heaven for any auto or motorcycle enthusiast. Easy plaques will be awarded to the first 200 entries, while trophies will be given to first, second and third-place entries in each category of competition. 7th Annual Heroes and Hot Rods Car Show

From sands collected across the continent to jewelry showcasing precious gems, visitors have plenty of options to choose from. Browse through vendor booths filled with unique gemstones and pieces of art created from minerals, then stop by the fluorescent room and touch table for hands-on education. Fossils, beads and crystals will be available for purchase, and some vendor spaces will include working exhibits. This family-friendly event will even feature a free kid's zone and demonstrations like concrete-making workshops.

Bixby First Assembly invites you to be a part of an incredible night of music and inspiration featuring one of the top groups in Gospel Music-The Williamsons! Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 16th at 5:00 pm at Bixby First Assembly of God, located at 107 N. Stanley in downtown Bixby. The Williamsons have produced more than a dozen recordings with much of their material written by Lisa and Donnie Williamson. Several of their songs have reached the Singing News top 40, the prevailing chart for Southern Gospel Radio. In December 2015, the group achieved their first #1 song, “Shout,” and received their second #1 song in March 2019 for, “Every Moment, Every Mountain, Every Mile”. Their latest album, “Above Everything” is on track to equal their past recordings, having already produced two top 20 songs! American Buckskin World Championship Show

The American Buckskin Registry Association is holding the annual World Championship Show at Tulsa Expo Square. All classes of riders compete in keyhole, showmanship, riding, horsemanship, barrel racing, pole bending and reining. Three sets of American Buckskin Registry Points are up for grabs during these triple-judged equestrian events. The World Championship Show is the premiere event for buckskins, duns, red duns and grullas. Event begins at 8am daily.

Tulsa Antique Advertising & Bottle Show

Named ASCAP’s Songwriters of the Century, Bill and his wife, Gloria, have written more than 700 popular Gospel songs throughout their career and have collectively received eight Grammy Awards and more than a dozen nominations, as well as two dozen Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association.
