OKC Zoo Safari Lights

January 1, 2023

This winter, go wild and fill your holiday season with the magic of light. OKC Zoo's Safari Lights features a larger-than-life light display showcasing over 59 wildlife-themed light sculptures viewable on a driving tour through the zoo. Feel the holiday cheer with animated light displays, festive treats, kids activities and weekend visits with Santa. In addition to the drive-thru experience, Safari Lights includes a separate walking experience with interactive light exhibits, musical light performances and lots of other winter magic as guests journey through the zoo’s entry plaza, Children’s Zoo and Dino Safari. To make the ride extra cozy, drive-thru attendees can pre-order hot chocolate and kettle corn, as well as glow items to light the night. Items must be purchased in advance and will be distributed at the drive-thru check-in location. Please note: Online reservations are required. Hippity Hoppity Horses

April 2, 2023 | 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Hop into some Easter fun at Northwestern Stables. This year's event will take place on Sunday April 2nd from 10 AM to 12:30 PM Located at 120 W. Northwestern Avenue, the historic Stable sits at the beginning of Fairmount Park's iconic Forbidden Drive in Chestnut Hill PA. Visitors to Hippity Hoppity Horses will have the opportunity to take part in age-grouped egg hunts, spring themed games, guided horse rides, and enjoy food and beverages throughout the event. Costs are: $7 for each Egg Hunter, $12 for Horse Rides, and $5 for selfies with the Bunny. All proceeds benefit the horses at Northwestern Stables. Independence Day Fireworks In Eufaula

Folds of Honor FreedomFest in Tulsa

July 4, 2023

Folds of Honor FreedomFest in Tulsa Visible for miles around, an estimated 80,000 spectators enjoy the view of the Folds of Honor FreedomFest presented by QuikTrip Corporation from Dream Keepers Park, River West Festival Park and along the Arkansas River including the Gathering Place. Spectators can experience the full effect of this patriotic celebration by tuning into radio sponsor KRMG (740 AM & 102.3 FM) during the display to listen to the accompanying musical score. Scenic Tulsa’s River Parks along the Arkansas River is a perfect place for family picnics, live music by local bands, and kids' activities. Looking for the best view of the Jenks Boomfest fireworks show? Look no further than the Oklahoma Aquarium! Our riverfront backyard offers a front-row seat to the most dazzling Fourth of July display in the area. Visit the cool exhibits indoors, then head outside to watch the fireworks. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, but no outside food or coolers, please. Food truck and beverage options will be available, or you can grab a bite at our Coral Reef Café! Cherokee National Holiday

September 1-3, 2023

The Cherokee National Holiday in Tahlequah celebrates the signing of the Cherokee Nation Constitution in 1839. This annual event is a celebration of Cherokee heritage and cultural awareness. The Cherokee National Holiday attracts visitors from across the United States as well as from around the world. The three-day holiday is full of activities for all ages, from traditional Native American games like cornstalk and blowgun shooting, marbles and stickball to tournaments in sports like basketball and softball. Many other events will take place during the Cherokee National Holiday, including a parade, children's events, a quilt show and a car show. Vendors will be on hand offering authentic Native American products such as food, artwork, pottery, blankets and other unique items. The highlights of the celebration will be the inter-tribal powwows, held on both Friday night and Saturday night.

Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival

September 1-3, 2023

The Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival will feature traditional arts and crafts, handmade American Indian items on display and sporting tournaments. Visitors will also enjoy a 5K run and walk, as well as softball, basketball, cornhole and volleyball tournaments. The Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival is the place to be this Labor Day weekend. A great way to begin any day of the festival is by visiting the Choctaw Nation Museum. Pleasant Valley Farms Fall Festival

Pleasant Valley Farms Pumpkin Patch in Sand Springs grows one of the largest variety of pumpkins and winter squash in Oklahoma. With over 90 varieties from 13 countries, the farm also provides information on each variety's use, including baking, pies, jams or decoration. Turkey Mountain Haunted Trails & Fall Festival

Take a spooky stroll you won't soon forget on the Turkey Mountain Haunted Trails. Enter the ¾-mile-long trail full of twisted cedar, cobwebs, creepy-crawly bugs and gnarled oaks. Guests will experience the trails of this dark walk-through attraction filled with terrifying live actors, fun special effects and ghastly scenes that fully immerse customers into the spooky side of Turkey Mountain. Follow trail guides in small groups through 10-12 scare stations that focus on creating an extremely eerie and spooky atmosphere rather than the gruesome scenes of other haunted houses. Each tour is approximately 30 spine-chilling minutes and begins at Turkey Mountain’s main parking lot. This experience is not recommended for children under 12, the faint of heart or those with mobility issues. Pumpkin Festival at Shepherd’s Cross & Heart of the Shepherd September 26 – November 4, 2023 Tuesday – Saturday 9:00 am - 6:30 pm Open Monday, October 30th Join Shepherd’s Cross and Heart of the Shepherd for their annual Pumpkin Festival. Enjoy a peaceful day in the country at an authentic working sheep farm, located just north of Claremore off Route 66. Filled with family-friendly activities with no scares. Loads of pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, and colors for purchase, starting at $1.50 each. Admission and parking are free. The only pay-for activity is the Wagon Ride. Enjoy a tractor-pulled wagon ride on a ramp-loading trailer through the hay meadow. Wagon ride tickets are available for $6.50 per person; 2 and under are free. Wagon rides are every 30 minutes. There are over 60 free activities to enjoy on the farm. Explore the walk-through Pumpkin Patch with Hay Maze and Game Area. Pet sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, and alpacas in the Farm Animal Barn petting area. Walk the Bible Garden and see pumpkins growing on the vine surrounded by sunflowers and fall flowers. All new this year is our QR Code Scavenger Hunt. Look around the farm for QR codes to scan and watch short videos about farming and shepherding. Pumpkin Packages are available to purchase, which include a pumpkin (size of pumpkin varies with type of package), wagon ride, and a take-home craft or bring some old clothes to make your own scarecrow. Packages start at $9.50 per person. Inside the Amish-built barn browse the gift shop with handmade décor, gifts, and wares from 60 local consignors as well as local honey, meat, and eggs; explore the Farm Museum and Silo with the all new animated Percy the Perfect Pumpkin story time, and watch fiber demonstrations in the Wool Mill. There are modern indoor restrooms. Shepherd’s Cross is an accredited Agritourism facility, a Made in Oklahoma Company, and a Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Animal Welfare Approved farm. Heart of the Shepherd is the non-profit organization (501-C3) that operates at the farm. Heart of the Shepherd teaches Biblical references to the harvest, the animals, farming, and gardening. Because of their generosity, admission to Pumpkin Festival is free and operates by donations. Suggested donation is $5 per person; suggested, not required. All donations benefit Heart of the Shepherd’s international and local mission outreach programs.

Straight No Chaser: Sleighin’ It Tour

Rhema Christmas Lights

Join thousands of annual visitors at the Rhema Christmas Lights and witness over three million shimmering lights synchronized to Christmas music across 110 acres. This much-loved lights display in Broken Arrow began in 1982 and has been attracting visitors ever since. Experience the wonder of illuminated festive figures like a gingerbread family with lollipops and gumdrops, Noah's ark with animals, 3D angels and reindeer, a Christmas tree forest, a 50-figure nativity scene and more. Visitors to the Rhema Christmas Lights can drive through the lights in their own vehicle, get out of the car and walk around the park, or view the spectacular displays from a horse-drawn carriage. Don't miss the Rhema Park bridge, complete with over 90,000 lights draped across the bridge alone. Synchronized to both classic and modern Christmas music, these lights have delighted visitors of all ages. While there, enjoy concessions that include cups of hot chocolate, piping hot coffee or sweet apple cider while venturing into the displays. Claremore Lake Lights

Claremore Lake Lights will return for the second year! Starting on November 22, residents and visitors can drive through the Claremore Lake Park and experience the Christmas lights and displays from the comfort of their warm vehicle. Lights will begin each night at dusk and remain on until 10:00p.m. through January 6, 2024. The Claremore Lake lights will begin at the Blue Starr Road entrance and displays will be featured throughout the park. From the front gate to the back gardens, tens of thousands of lights illuminate the property during the Philbrook Festival. Claremore Lake Lights

Rhema Christmas Lights

Join thousands of annual visitors at the Rhema Christmas Lights and witness over three million shimmering lights synchronized to Christmas music across 110 acres. This much-loved lights display in Broken Arrow began in 1982 and has been attracting visitors ever since. Experience the wonder of illuminated festive figures like a gingerbread family with lollipops and gumdrops, Noah's ark with animals, 3D angels and reindeer, a Christmas tree forest, a 50-figure nativity scene and more. Visitors to the Rhema Christmas Lights can drive through the lights in their own vehicle, get out of the car and walk around the park, or view the spectacular displays from a horse-drawn carriage. Don't miss the Rhema Park bridge, complete with over 90,000 lights draped across the bridge alone. Synchronized to both classic and modern Christmas music, these lights have delighted visitors of all ages. While there, enjoy concessions that include cups of hot chocolate, piping hot coffee or sweet apple cider while venturing into the displays. Living Nativity at Shepherd’s Cross

December 7-9, 2023

Come to this Living Nativity event at Shepherd's Cross, a working farm and Christian mission, to walk through a living, interactive nativity depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Come, take a peaceful stroll back in time and enjoy live character portrayals, including over one hundred costumed participants. Live animals in the nativity scene include sheep, mules, donkeys, chickens, guineas and horses. The animals are housed in a real, working barn, as this event is an indoor nativity. This year the Living Nativity will feature two drama performances: Elisabeth, the story of Christ’s birth from Elizabeth’s (John the Baptist’s mother) perspective and The Inn Keeper’s Wife, the story of Christ’s birth from the Innkeeper’s Wife’s perspective. These will be offered every hour. Shepherd’s Shop will also be open during the event and will feature farm-fresh pecans, Amish pecan candies, baked goods and hot beverages, as well as festive Christmas and sheep-related gifts. A wide variety of unique Christmas items and handmade items will be available this Christmas season.

The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse has reunited with the writers and much of the cast of last year’s “Christmas in My Hometown” to present a seasonal variety show entitled “BACP Hometown Holiday Happenings.” Performances are December 8 and 9, 2023 at 7:30 PM and matinees on December 9 and 10, 2023 at 2 PM at the Playhouse located at 1800 S. Main Street in Broken Arrow. Patterned after a television Christmas special from yesteryear, a la Andy Williams, Bing Crosby and Dean Martin, “Hometown Holiday Happenings” pays tribute to December’s seasonal holidays of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa through music and sketches – both comedic and heart touching. The show will feature new songs from Scott Brister, who wrote the music for “Christmas in My Hometown.” It also will feature sketches from Steve Cowen, “Christmas in My Hometown” playwright, and Kelley Friedberg, a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, whose plays have been produced at not only the BACP, but also Heller Theatre Company, Blackjack Rewrite Company, and Echo Theatre Company. AND, there will be an audience sing-along with ukulele accompaniment. Featured entertainment includes some solo artists, vocal choirs, a bell choir, the Main Street Players and the ukulele group from the BA Senior Center. The Nutcracker

Meet Santa in the Rose District!

The City of Broken Arrow is hosting a free meet and greets with Santa Claus! Come get your photo taken in the iconic Broken Arrow sleighs with Santa and tell him all about what you want for Christmas. Enjoy the ambiance of the Rose District dressed in the holiday spirit! Theatre Arts Troupe will also be performing during this time. Lines for Santa will be cut off promptly at the end of the event time and those in line will get to meet Santa. Living Nativity at Shepherd’s Cross

December 14-16, 2023 | 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Come to this Living Nativity event at Shepherd's Cross, a working farm and Christian mission, to walk through a living, interactive nativity depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Come, take a peaceful stroll back in time and enjoy live character portrayals, including over one hundred costumed participants. Live animals in the nativity scene include sheep, mules, donkeys, chickens, guineas and horses. The animals are housed in a real, working barn, as this event is an indoor nativity. This year the Living Nativity will feature two drama performances: Elisabeth, the story of Christ’s birth from Elizabeth’s (John the Baptist’s mother) perspective and The Inn Keeper’s Wife, the story of Christ’s birth from the Innkeeper’s Wife’s perspective. These will be offered every hour. Shepherd’s Shop will also be open during the event and will feature farm-fresh pecans, Amish pecan candies, baked goods and hot beverages, as well as festive Christmas and sheep-related gifts. A wide variety of unique Christmas items and handmade items will be available this Christmas season.

Race Into the New Year

New Years’ Eve Powwow
