“The Art of Cinematic Lighting” is a two-day workshop that introduces students to the basics of lighting a scene for a traditional narrative film production. Students will learn how to use gear found on professional sets, including a variety of lights, stands, and light modifiers as well as basic techniques used to achieve looks frequently utilized during the course of a film production. The workshop will be taught by veteran filmmakers using a blend of lecture and hands-on exercise. Registration is required. Registration will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. This three week workshop will be in person on the OSU-Tulsa campus on Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on February 21st, February 28th, and March 7th. In this workshop, you’ll start songs from scratch and look at previous songs to see how we can shape them into something even better. This 4-week workshop will be in person on the OSU-Tulsa campus and via Zoom from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on the following Wednesdays: March 22nd, March 29th, April 5th, and April 12th. Participants will undertake rewriting an existing (unpublished) work of prose--fiction or nonfiction. Emphasis will be on rethinking such elements as formatting, pace, word choice, and--most importantly--desired readership. Attendees may either bring an older work--any medium--or create a new one for rewriting purposes. Instructor: Michael Wright Instructor Bio: Michael Wright is an avid explorer of writing dedicated to examining the thousand-and-one questions about what makes humans so truly wondrous and downright contrary at the same time. His works range from novels and plays to poetry, radio drama and performance art/spoken word. Each new creative effort seeks out the possibility of continual experimentation with forms and pushing the limits of expression. Registration will close at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023.

Guests will enjoy a relaxing, creative experience as they choose from a variety of whimsical and pet-themed pieces and select an assortment of color beads to create a completely unique windchime. Each class participant will create one windchime, with an additional take-home windchime kit. Class participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Minimum age requirement is 8 years old. Guests will also learn more about Garden Deva, what they do, and their history. Ticket sales end on 3/21 at 12 noon. "Oklahoma Shows!" continues Tulsa Garden Club’s tradition of staging FREE flower shows for the public. This Design-Specialty show will feature floral creations, botanical arts, including photography. At 2pm, young gardeners and artists will be recognized for participation in the Club’s sponsorship of nationwide contests, including Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl poster contest. The Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl contest is a decades-long partnership of National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC) and USDA Forest Service. Visitors may enjoy floral design demonstrations at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Throughout the afternoon, plants and new and gently-used gardening tools and gardening-related items will be available for purchase with proceeds benefiting gardening education.
