Broken Arrow, OK - -August 4th, 2016 –Alisa Inglett, owner of Your Design Gallery, is hosting an art show titled ‘Faces’ An Art Show of Portraits, opening night is Thursday, August 4th, 2016. Local artists create a diverse exploration of our relationship to face of those around us. In this group show you will find paintings, photographs, sculpture and other artistic representations of predominant expression. This collection of artwork depicts the likeness of faces from all forms of life; some highly charged, others sensual, and some witty. This is a show of extraordinary proportions that you won’t want to miss. For one night only, you will have a chance to meet these artists and talk to them about their vision and the process of choosing the subjects of their work. This is an excellent opportunity for art lovers in the community to come and see a diverse range of creative talent. Plan a night with the live music of Grazzhopper (facebook.com/Grazzhoppers), food, wine, a diverse collection of artwork and a chance to meet the artists. The artwork will be on display at Your Design for 6 weeks following the date of the opening. Tulsa Symphony kicks off its 2016-2017 season with a bang and everyone is invited! The TSO performs this free annual Symphony in the Park to celebrate summer, the arts, and our beautiful city at Guthrie Green, Tulsa's urban park in the heart of the Brady Arts District. Conducted by Tulsa's favorite Pops conductor, Ron Spigelman, this family-oriented annual experience attracts upwards of 4,000 people and has become a festive summer tradition in Tulsa. Bring a picnic, enjoy the water features, relax in this unique setting and enjoy this concert of pops and light classics - all leading to a fantastic fireworks finale silhouetting our beautiful downtown skyline.

Weaving 201 - Weaving on a harnessed loom – Learn weaving on a loom with a harness. Each participant will take home a finished products. Cost: $133 Fiber is included. Cost: $233 Fiber is included. This is a two day class – September 9 & 10th. Participants may stay until 5:30 to practice if desired. No hidden fees, rental fees or materials fees. All are included in the weekend package. Class minimum of two people. Class max of 20 people. Our classes go a step farther than regular classes - we teach some history of fiber arts, and practical technology. Bring a sack lunch. On the third Thursday of each month, Philbrook addresses issues of contemporary arts and culture through guest speakers, hands-on projects, and community collaborations. Guests enjoy a cash bar, light bites, music, and more. The magical setting for Winnie-the-Pooh stories is a real place. The Hundred Acre Wood was inspired by Ashdown Forest in southeast England. Kathryn Aalto travels from England to Tulsa to discuss the real-life places that inspired A.A. Milne's classic. Included with Museum admission. Third Thursdays are presented by the Oklahoma Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Gable Gotwals.

Jack Price, founder of Price Rubin & Partners and concert pianist formerly known as Dickran Atamian, recently announced the launch of the J. Donald Feagin Guest Artist Series at the University of Tulsa, which kicks off at the Lorton Performance Center. The premier concert, which is the first of its kind in Tulsa, takes place on Tuesday, September 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lorton Performance Center Gussman Concert Hall, 550 South Gary Place in Tulsa, featuring Price Rubin artist Alex Slobodyanik, a revered world-class pianist. At the age of 15, Slobodyanik became the youngest pianist ever to win the Young Concert Artists International Auditions. He subsequently received the Grand Prize at the Stravinsky Awards International Piano Competition and a Young Artist of the Year Award from the Gilmore Foundation, establishing him as one of the leading pianists of his generation. He has appeared at Lincoln Center, UNESCO Hall in Paris, the Great Hall in Moscow, Suntory Hall in Tokyo and a host of other major venues throughout the United States and Europe.

Pumpkin Festival at Shepherd’s Cross September 22 – November 5, 2016 Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9:00 am – 6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday by appointment, Closed Sunday The Pumpkin Festival is a harvest celebration held at Shepherd’s Cross, an authentic working farm, just north of Claremore OK on Scenic Route 66. Come to the farm and enjoy the peace of a few hours spent in the country. Wholesome fun for the entire family includes hay maze, festive outdoor & indoor games, farm animal petting barn, farm demonstrations and festive fall story time. The farm’s focus is educational, fall festive fun. Truckloads of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes for purchase; as well as straw bales & corn stalks available for purchase. Wagon rides in the hay meadow go out approximately every 30 minutes. Farm Museum & Educational Farm Silo and see pumpkins growing on the vine. Antique Farm Equipment – demonstrations. The Bible Garden is available for guided or self-guided tours; audio or visual or both. And don't miss the Shepherd’s Shop, a quaint country gift shop, is an event in itself - featuring a host of festive fall, handmade and farm related gifts and wares from many gifted artisans; a year round “craft fair”.
