The National Snaffle Bit Association brings together horses and riders from all over the country for its annual World Show at Tulsa Expo Square. This competition of pleasure horse events includes horsemanship, equitation over fences, western pleasure, hunter under saddle, hunter hack and more. Riders and horses from all different classes compete at this nearly week-long event. The NSBA will offer all-breed classes and payout in excess of $1,000,000 in cash and prizes. A trade show composed of commercial exhibitors and pleasure horse professionals will be available to assist spectators during the week.

It’s been a decade since Gospel Music legend Bill Gaither assembled the celebrated Homecoming family of artists for a videotaping before a live audience; however, this summer, Gaither reunites the Homecoming friends for an exciting two-day, two-concert musical event at Tulsa’s Mabee Center. Since 1992, when Gaither first began his Homecoming DVD & CD series, nearly every volume has been certified gold or platinum. For three decades, Gaither took the prestigious Homecoming Tour to cities nationwide with collective attendance figures exceeding 1.1 million. Named ASCAP’s Songwriters of the Century, Bill and his wife, Gloria, have written more than 700 popular Gospel songs throughout their career and have collectively received eight Grammy Awards and more than a dozen nominations, as well as two dozen Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association. Head to the Pryor Patchers Quilt Show this August for all your quilting needs. Horace Vandergelder, a wealthy, irascible, penny-pinching merchant in nineteenth-century Yonkers, NY, has a plan. He has been a widower for long enough. Now he wants to find a wife. He recruits the help of local matchmaker, Mrs. Dolly Levi, but she has plans of her own. Meanwhile, Vandergelder’s niece Ermengarde desperately wants to marry her artist lover, but Vandergelder refuses to allow it. Furthermore, his clerks have run off to New York City on a mission ‘to kiss a girl’! There they find Irene Molloy and Minnie Fay, who are looking for excitement of their own. Hilarity ensues as everyone tries to secure their love lives and marry as they choose. The BACP welcomes Director Frank Gallagher. Frank has long been involved in theatre, starting in his early years at the University of Texas in Dallas, to the many years spent here in the Tulsa area. The Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo, a PRCA-sanctioned rodeo hosted each year in Vinita, will feature all of the exciting rodeo events fans have come to expect. Grab a seat at this year’s rodeo and enjoy the eight main events – barrel racing, bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, steer roping, calf roping, bull riding and team roping. Created in 1935 in honor of the memory of Will Rogers, the Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo has become one of the biggest and best rodeos in the region, attracting top cowboy champions from across the nation and offering thousands of dollars in prize money. Tickets to the Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo are available in advance or at the gate. Don’t miss the parade, hosted downtown on Wednesday, or the street dance, hosted every night of the event.
