Tickets are now on sale at McKnightCenter.org for the Oklahoma debut performances that will culminate in The McKnight Center Chamber Music Festival April 10 through April 14, 2018. Featuring a variety of world-renowned talented chamber musicians, this inaugural festival will educate, inspire, and entertain music lovers of all ages. This residency includes three intimate ticketed soiree performances with unique programs in Stillwater, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City; masterclasses for OSU students that are free and open to the public, a music-education concert for area elementary students, and our gift to the Stillwater community - a free concert on April 14 at 7:30pm as the finale to the Festival. Each of the three soiree performances includes a pre-concert reception and post-concert dinner. Famed concert pianist and chamber musician Anne-Marie McDermott is the Festival’s artistic director and is responsible for recruiting each of the musicians and programming the music highlighted throughout the week. Many of these highly talented artists have performed on world-renowned stages such as the Dallas Symphony, the Zurich Opera, Santa Fe Opera, the MET, Curtis Institute of Music, and the St. Lawrence String Quartet.
The TSO will transport audiences out of this world! Guest Pops Conductor Ron Spigelman and the Tulsa Symphony will perform Voyage of Discover: Space, The Final Frontier, featuring Holst’s The Planets – accompanied by images from NASA. Also on the program will be music from the Star Trek Enterprise, and from John Williams’ epic Star Wars score.
