Heart of the Shepherd’s Intern / Apprentice Program at Shepherd’s Cross Summer Semester May – Mid-Aug or Early Sept. The internship program at the farm equips students with basic farming skills and with Biblical references to farming and shepherding. Students are taught historical agriculture, mixed with a healthy appreciation for industrialized agriculture and exposed to agricultural parables found in The Bible. Shepherd’s Cross is a working sheep farm. There are many other animals and activities on the farm. Other areas of the farm include a Farm Museum, a Farm Store, Wool Mill, and Bible Garden. The internship is under the direction of Dr. Diane Dickinson, an agriculturalist with a Bachelor’s in Agriculture, a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, and over five decades of farm and livestock experience. She serves as an on-site veterinarian and operates a veterinary care unit on the farm. The summer semester is the busiest Bible Garden season to intern, as this is harvest season. Educate visitors on growing, harvesting, and using seasonal produce as part of our outreach program. This is weaning season for the lambs, and summer grass range season for the ewes. There are a lot of hands-on activities with the sheep in the summer. More information is available online: https://shepherdscross.com/intern-residency.html Apply in-person or online. Experience is advantageous but not required. High school or college students as well as any age adult are welcome to apply. College credit may be received for students enrolled in college classes. Following successful completion of the Internship, the student may apply for the Apprentice/Residency Program. This program allows the student to remain at the farm for eight additional months to experience all the activities of a farm year. Internships are full or part time and live on-site or live off-site. Compensation for internships may include room, board, and a monthly monetary stipend. The stipend is not a salary, and it is performance based.

Join the cast of TPAC Produces “Ragtime: The Musical” in our newly renovated Patti Johnson Wilson Auditorium as they preview songs from the upcoming production at Tulsa Performing Arts Center. “Ragtime: The Musical” Summary: At the dawn of a new century, everything is changing … and anything is possible. Set in the volatile melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, three distinctly American tales are woven together — that of a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant, and a daring young Harlem musician — united by their courage, compassion, and belief in the promise of the future. Together, they confront history’s timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope, and despair, and what it means to live in America. With a Tony-winning score featuring musical theatre show-stoppers, Ragtime is filled with pageantry, emotion, and hope, bursting onto the stage like no other musical. “Ragtime: The Musical” runs August 8-24.

The Olympians, book by Cara Reichel and orchestrations by Peter C. Mills, reimagines the roles of female deities in ancient Greece, focusing on Artemis, Athena, and Aphrodite. These goddesses, frustrated with the patriarchal society that they inhabit, decide to empower mortal women by choosing three champions to undertake epic quests. The male gods, however, interfere, making the quests more challenging and forcing the women to unite for success and prove that sometimes you can all be heroes. The Olympians features an eclectic score of well-loved hits, ranging from Pat Benatar, Miley Cyrus, The Chicks, Kelly Clarkson, Blondie and many more. Come celebrate the opening of our Classically Epic 46th Season with an Epic Muse-ical. The BACP is pleased to welcome director Toni Ross and music director Kevin Pearson.
