American Buckskin World Championship Show

August 1, 2026

The American Buckskin Registry Association is holding the annual World Championship Show at Tulsa Expo Square. All classes of riders compete in keyhole, showmanship, riding, horsemanship, barrel racing, pole bending and reining. Three sets of American Buckskin Registry Points are up for grabs during these triple-judged equestrian events. The World Championship Show is the premiere event for buckskins, duns, red duns and grullas.

Pickin' in the Park: Community Acoustic Jam

Spring & Summer Tours at Shepherd's Cross Farm

August 1, 4-8, 11-15, 18-22, & 25-29, 2026 | 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Springtime at Shepherd’s Cross - an authentic working farm just north of Claremore, OK, on Scenic Route 66 - begins with the arrival of our newborn lambs. We invite you to come watch the flock peacefully graze the pastures and rest by the still waters, while the lambs jump for joy and frolic in the fields. Tour Options • Self-Guided Tour (Donation-based; suggested $5 per person) Stroll the farm at your own pace and enjoy watching the sheep in their natural habitat. • Guided Walking Tour (Donation-based; suggested $5 per person) Learn more about our flock with a guided walk adjacent to the pastures. Drop-ins are welcome, or you may pre-schedule. • Guided Wagon Ride Tour ($7 per person) Experience the flock up close with a wagon ride directly into the pasture. o Note: Must be pre-scheduled. Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo

August 3-8, 2026

The Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo, a PRCA-sanctioned rodeo hosted each year in Vinita, will feature all of the exciting rodeo events fans have come to expect. Grab a seat at this year's rodeo and enjoy the eight main events – barrel racing, bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, steer roping, calf roping, bull riding and team roping. Created in 1935 in honor of the memory of Will Rogers, the Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo has become one of the biggest and best rodeos in the region, attracting top cowboy champions from across the nation and offering thousands of dollars in prize money.  Don't miss the parade, hosted downtown on Wednesday, or the street dance, hosted every night of the event. Other festivities will include a calf scramble, the Old Settlers reunion, a stunning grand entry, hilarious performances by rodeo clowns and more. Make your way to Vinita for one of the most outstanding rodeos in the southwest United States and watch as world-champion cowboys compete for cash and prizes.

First Friday Art Crawl

August 7, 2026 | 6 - 9 p.m.

Since 2007, the Tulsa Arts District has presented the community with rotating art displays as part of the monthly First Friday Art Crawl events. Every first Friday of the month, visitors can explore artwork inside galleries, studios and museums and catch a few live music performances or even an exciting fireworks display. As a bonus, art crawlers can take advantage of free museum and gallery admission while shopping later than normal business hours would allow. Hit the district early for dinner, or stay a little later for a craft cocktail best enjoyed on an outdoor patio.

Wreath Laying & Flyover

August 14, 2026 | 12 - 12:30 p.m.

Attend the Wreath Laying & Flyover at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum to commemorate the upcoming anniversary of Will Roger's death. Fondly referred to as "Oklahoma's Favorite Son," Rogers died alongside pilot Wiley Post in a plane crash on August 15, 1935 in Alaska. Wreaths will be laid at Rogers' tomb and a flyover will conclude the solemn event that honors one of Oklahoma's most famous humorists and philosophers.

National Snaffle Bit Association World Show

August 14-23, 2026 | 8 a.m.

The National Snaffle Bit Association brings together horses and riders from all over the country for its annual World Show at Tulsa Expo Square. This competition of pleasure horse events includes horsemanship, equitation over fences, western pleasure, hunter under saddle, hunter hack and more. Riders and horses from all different classes compete at this nearly week-long event. A trade show comprised of commercial exhibitors and pleasure horse professionals will be available to assist spectators during the week.

Muskogee Hot Air Balloon Festival

Hot air balloons will fill the sky over Muskogee’s Hatbox Event Park this August during the Muskogee Hot Air Balloon Festival. This magical event will feature tethered balloon rides, balloon glows after dark and hot air balloon rides as contestants compete for the Oklahoma Hot Air Balloon Championship Governor’s Trophy. A conference for women speaking out for what's right sponsored by Women Empowered for Democracy. Speakers include Keynote Speaker Jen Loren, Senior Director, Exec. Producer, and host of Cherokee Film, speaking on Native American representation in film and media; Janet Levit, Univ. of Tulsa Law Professor and Exec. Consultant at Repro 46, speaking on the state of OK reproductive health; Rena Cook, Author and Vocal Presentation Coach, speaking on techniques for having tricky conversations; Sahar Abi-Hassan, University of Tulsa Asst. Professor of Political Science, speaking on the influence of the judicial system on today's politics; Rev. Linda Barton Paul, Retired Episcopal Deacon, speaking on moving between symphony halls to prison walls; Nancy Vitali, TCC Prof. of Psychology, Retired Assoc. Prof. of Nursing, Caring Science Scholar, Caritas Coach and Yoga Instructor, speaking on tools for self-empowerment; and Rebekah Warren, RSU Adj. Maker Faire Tulsa

Experience a day of creativity during the award-winning, family-friendly Maker Faire Tulsa hosted at Tulsa Expo Square. In celebration of technology, education, science, arts, crafts, engineering, food, sustainability and making of all kinds, over 150 "makers" and inventors will fill the Exchange Center with amazing projects and ideas. Makers include artists, engineers, scientists and anyone else who has something they've made or a concept they have come up with and want to display. Many projects combine creativity and resourcefulness to create products that are useful and appealing. The day includes demonstrations from makers and fun, interactive shows that put their passions to the test.
