Tulsa Reining Classic

September 1-3, 2023

The Tulsa Reining Classic is an action-packed display of equestrian skills at Tulsa Expo Square. Watch cowboys and cowgirls of all ages and abilities compete in various challenging events that will keep you on the edge of your seat. See riders guide horses through precise patterns of circles, spins and stops at speeds alternating between a slow lope and a fast gallop. Cheer for your favorites as some of the most successful open riders to the tiniest young cowboys and cowgirls execute a variety of cantering and galloping feats in this thrilling show. Don’t forget to check the on-site Western trade show for some great deals when you need a break from all the thrilling competition.

Woolaroc Fall Trail Ride

September 9, 2023

Watch for buffalo, elk, deer or longhorn cattle on this trail ride that covers approximately 15 miles of scenic terrain on the famous Woolaroc Ranch. Bring your own horse and join the group for a day-long ride over 3,700 acres of ranch land. Hidden away amongst the beauty of the rolling Osage Hills, the country retreat of oilman Frank Phillips will open its gates to riders looking to explore native terrain that is rarely seen by the general public.The Woolaroc Fall Trail Ride includes overnight primitive camping on Friday prior to the ride, a morning and afternoon guided trail ride and admission to Woolaroc. The trail ride fee also includes lunch and dinner on Saturday. Riders must provide their own horses and gear. While not on the trail, participants can enjoy all that Woolaroc has to offer, including the on-site lodge and museum featuring a premier Western art collection, one of the world's finest collections of Colt firearms and an extensive collection of Navajo blankets. Registration for the Woolaroc Fall Trail Ride will begin on Friday, with current Coggins papers required upon arrival. Arrival and check-in time on Saturday is scheduled between 7am and 9am, while the trail ride will begin promptly at 9:30am. Total time in the saddle will be approximately five hours. All participants are encouraged to bring a camera, weather-appropriate clothing, a water canteen, rain poncho, sunscreen and insect repellent. Lunch will typically consist of a barbecue buffalo sandwich, a bag of chips and a cookie. Dinner typically consists of smoked meats, potato salad, baked beans and dessert. Lunches for non-riders are available by reservation only. Camping will be available Saturday night with additional charge. Pre-registration for the Woolaroc Fall Trail Ride is requested.

Second Saturday Architecture Tour: Downtown Tulsa - A Bird's Eye View

These monthly walking tours will give you an insightful look into the exciting architecture and prestigious collections that you may pass by every day. Sites include Tulsa's various Art Deco buildings, The Church Studio, the Blue Dome District, America's Crossroads in Sapulpa and much more. This month's tour will provide guests with a new view of Tulsa from rooftops and high-story windows.

Frightening Flash Fiction | 4-week workshop Starts September 26 from 7-9 p.m. and meets weekly through October 17 Registration required at https://bit.ly/44ut6Mc In anticipation of a special CPW Halloween open mic, this 4-week workshop will help participants practice their flash fiction skills while producing work imbued with a dark and mysterious edge. -Join us as we delve into the gothic worlds of vampires, zombies, werewolves, witches, ghosts, monsters, and more. - Each week, workshop participants will be given an optional writing prompt and a word-count limit. - The following week, we will read everyone's pieces during class and perform on-the-spot critiques to help authors revise their work in anticipation of the Halloween reading and possible publication. -Participants are encouraged to explore the gothic and horror genres in any way they see fit, whether this be a traditional, experimental, satirical, humorous, or post-modern approach. About the instructor Eric Howerton is a Teaching Associate Professor of English at OSU Stillwater, an avid hiker, skier, musician, gardener, hot sauce purveyor, and mushroom forager. BlackGold Days

September 28-29, 2023 | 4 - 11 p.m. September 30, 2023 | 10 a.m. - 11 p.m.

BlackGold Days family-friendly festival is in its 45th year, and is located in BlackGold Park in Glenpool, Oklahoma. It runs from Sept. 28 through Oct. 1 with more than 10,000 attendees expected to experience the largest event of the year for the community. It also attracts vendors from all over Oklahoma and surrounding states. VIP Night is free for sponsors on Sept. 28; $1 carnival-ride night is Sept. 28; included in the festival is a KidZone, a pie-baking contest, a chili cook-off, a petting zoo, carnival rides and a beer garden. There is FREE admission; FREE parking, and FREE live entertainment.

Pink the Ville

September 30, 2023 | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Don all of the pink gear you can muster up and Pink the Ville at Family Healthcare Clinic's Annual Miles for Mammograms 5K event. Starting and ending at Tower Center Unity Square in Bartlesville, competitors can choose from three ways to join the 5K fun: Timed Run, Fun Walk or Sleepin’ In. The top three finishers in each group will receive medals, and awards to runners will be presented by gender and age group, including youth, and overall male and female. Competitors will receive a T-shirt with their registration and the first 300 registrants will snag runner swag bags. One most "Pinked Out" individual and team will also take home special prizes. Don't miss out on this fun race for a good cause in Bartlesville.

Cow Thieves & Outlaws Reunion
