Lessons for Living: Receiving Reality

November 7, 2026 | 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

How we respond to uncertainty, change and life’s unexpected challenges shapes how we lead, care for others and live. Much of our suffering arises not simply from what happens to us, but from our resistance to what is. We often divide life into success and failure, joy and grief, certainty and mystery. Yet the deepest truths of being human rarely fit into either/or. They ask us to make room for both/and. Join Clarehouse for Lessons for Living: Receiving Reality, a one-day contemplative retreat exploring how to receive the fullness of life. Through guided meditation, embodiment practices, reflective listening and honest conversation participants will explore patterns of resistance and develop a practical framework for navigating life's paradoxes and unexpected gifts. The retreat is facilitated by Jennifer Clark, MD, a Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician, author of Suffer, and Clarehouse medical liaison. Catherine Pryor Miller, a therapeutic yoga instructor, will lead stretching and myofascial release to support mindful movement, body awareness and relaxation. Who Should Attend? This retreat is open to anyone interested in personal growth, self-awareness and new perspectives on navigating life's challenges. Business leaders and executives, healthcare professionals, caregivers, doulas, helping professionals and individuals experiencing personal or professional transitions may find particular value in the experience. Whether you're leading a team, supporting someone through a difficult time, managing change or simply looking for a different way to approach life's uncertainties, Receiving Reality offers an opportunity to pause, reflect and explore new ways of responding to life as it unfolds.

Holiday Craft Fair: Creek County Literacy

November 20-21, 2026

Creek County Literacy Program is hosting a Holiday Craft Fair Nov. 20-21st to help fund repairs for their building. Funds from this year’s craft sale will help replace the closers on the doors in the building. These aging door closers are allowing the heavy wooden doors to slam shut, posing a risk to our employees, volunteers, and patrons. Six heavy duty door closers are needed, as well as door stops for all the interior doors. Doors will be open 2-7pm on Friday and 9 to 2pm on Saturday, and vendors are welcome to set up Thursday, Nov. 19, any time from 9:30am to 4pm. Our mission is to help every child and adult in Creek County to read, through tutoring, technology, and health literacy outreaches.

Location:

Creek County Literacy Program Office

15 N. Poplar St.
Sapulpa, OK 74066
