Symphony in the Park

You’re invited! Join Tulsa Symphony as we kick off our 2017-2018 season with a bang! Symphony in the Park celebrates summer, the arts, and our beautiful city at Guthrie Green, Tulsa’s urban park in the heart of the Brady Arts District.  This annual family-oriented experience attracts upwards of 4,000 music lovers and has become a festive summer tradition in Tulsa. Bring your picnic, enjoy the water features and enjoy a menagerie of pops and light classics, all building to an inspiring fireworks finale in front of our Tulsa skyline.

Fridays in the Loft Chamber Series - Mozart

September 8, 2017 | 7 - 9 p.m.

The opening of the 2017-2018 Fridays in the Loft Chamber Series will feature one of Mozart’s grandest works for woodwinds – Serenade No. 10 “Gran Partita.”  Mozart composed three great wind serenades after settling into Vienna in 1781.

The Demand Project's Back to the 80's Party

September 15, 2017 | 7 - 11 p.m.

Do you remember the days of Zima and Jolly Ranchers? Get ready to dig out your legwarmers and mini skirts, your acid washed jeans and members only jackets! Here's the 411. The Demand Project is bringing this 1980's night of fun, so grab your posse or your favorite boy toy and snag your tickets today. The highlight of the night is the Lip Sync Contest (with cash prizes!) so when you RSVP be sure and reserve your song. We can't wait to see you head bang! Bonus points for dressing like the singer/band member you will be impersonating! We'll have food, drinks, trivia, photo opps and more. It will be the bomb! Be sure and shape up your mullet (or aqua-net your bangs!) and party like it's 1985. Need help with that? We even have appointments available pre-party for make-up and hair styling (because surely you don't have Aqua-Net and blue eyeshadow at home, now, do you?!) 21st Anniversary Gatesway Balloon Festival

September 15, 2017 | 4 - 8 p.m. September 16, 2017 | 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. September 17, 2017 | 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Prepare for a weekend of fun with this classic community event that draws in 40,000+ guests from the local community and across the Midwest! Friday and Saturday evening, enjoy the gorgeous spectacle of the hot air balloon glow. Early morning Saturday and Sunday you can watch the showcase of hot air balloon competitive flights. Come for the epic hot air balloon show but stay for the great food, live entertainment, family activities and art/craft vendors. The festival will feature a mustang car show, tethered balloon rides and children's bounce houses. The Chisholm Event Park is just east of NSU's Broken Arrow campus at the intersection of the creek turnpike and 101st St. General admission is free and the parking fee is $5. There will be plenty of shuttles & parking available. Moms'- There will be lots of handwashing stations as well! This yearly event allows Gatesway to raise significant funding for core youth programming, job coaching, modern life skills education, residential services and much needed campus improvements that benefit intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals. Classics I - Gala Concert

September 16, 2017 | 8 - 10 p.m.

Acclaimed pianist Jon Kimura Parker will perform Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 as the featured concerto soloist on TSO’s opening Classics Series Gala Concert on September 16, 2017. Known for his passionate artistry and engaging stage presence, Mr. Parker has been hailed as “an insightful energetic soloist” by The New York Times. Also on the program are Brahms’ energetic Hungarian Dances No. 1 and No. 5 and Bartók’s colorful Miraculous Mandarin Suite.
