Tulsa Botanic Blooms

May 1-23, 2024

As one of the largest flower bulb displays in the region, this celebration of spring generally starts around mid-March to early April and lasts approximately four to six weeks. Peak bloom times vary slightly each year depending on weather, but Garden horticulturists choose early, mid- and late-flowering bulbs to incorporate in the design to increase the display time. In total, over 200,000 tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, crocus and other spring-flowering bulbs will usher in the season – and this is just the beginning as an array of redbuds, peonies, irises, roses and more brighten the landscape each day. The concentrated floral showcase is in the A.R. and Marylouise Tandy Floral Terraces where almost 6,000 square feet of bulbs are planted in a different Art Deco-inspired pattern each year. In addition, tens of thousands of daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, crocuses and other spring-blooming bulbs will light up the Children’s Discovery Garden, the Lakeside Promenade, and the Jim & Cherry Bost Arboretum.

Spin-n-Knit-In

May 11, 2024 | 1 - 4 p.m.

On the second Saturday of each month, drop by the farm to watch or participate as we fellowship and work hand crafts and fiber arts. Bring a craft to work on or come for a "free help session" with fiber arts such as spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, or felting. Shepherd’s Cross offers weaving and fiber arts classes year-round, on an individual or group basis. Shepherd’s Cross is an accredited Agritourism facility and a Made in Oklahoma Company that processes Animal Welfare Approved fiber (that is chemical free, hormone free, free range, all natural). Shepherd’s Cross hosts a mini wool mill, processing wool from their own sheep, raised on site. Heart of the Shepherd is the non-profit organization (501-C3) that operates at the farm and establishes wool mills in remote, impoverished areas around the world. Does owning a business whose customers are other businesses interest you?

May 22, 2024 | 12 - 1 p.m.

When your customer is a business (B2B), instead of an individual, it creates a distinct environment. It’s crucial to choose the option that best aligns with your goals and preferences. This webinar explores the unique landscape of B2B franchising to help you make an informed decision. Some advantages of a B2B franchise business: - Lower Investment & Operating Expenses: Most don’t need a large building or high-priced real estate. - Work-Life Balance (Monday - Friday hours): Enjoy nights and weekends with your family or time for you! - Scalable Without Incremental Investment of Additional Locations: Many B2B businesses can grow revenue without adding locations or more office space. - Services That Are in Demand: You can provide the products and services necessary for your business customers to be successful. - Larger Transactions: Business clients often have higher-ticket sales transactions leading to higher revenue. - Repeat Loyal Customers (Recurring Revenue): Business customers sell their products and services and need to repurchase to sell more. Providing quality products and services yourself can lead to a loyal customer and repeat sales. - Support From Your Franchisor: As a franchise B2B business, you will have support from your franchisor and network of other franchise owners. - Helping Other Small Businesses in Your Community Succeed: You have an opportunity to be part of the business community, build long-term relationships, and support the success of your fellow business owners.
