Link Up: The Orchestra Sings Family Concert

March 4, 2018 | 3 - 5 p.m.

For more than 30 years, Carnegie Hall Link Up has paired orchestras with students in grades 3-5 to explore orchestral repertoire and fundamental musical skills, including creative work and composition, through a hands-on music curriculum. Tulsa Symphony became a Link Up partner in the 2015-16 season. Students participate by singing or playing along on recorder with TSO from their seats in the concert hall. In our second season, TSO served over 12,000 students by partnering with their school music programs. Our 2017-18 season will serve upwards of 15,000 students.

Brown Bag It 2017-18 Series Announced for Tulsa PAC Trust

The Tulsa Performing Arts Center Trust’s Brown Bag It free noontime concert series on select Wednesdays at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center is back with another exciting line-up. The popular series, which was established in the early 1980s, is once again returning to the first Wednesday of every month, with the exception of January. Vocalist Janet Rutland kicks off the 2017-18 Brown Bag It season. Janet is equally comfortable singing Hank Williams or Johnny Mercer. Rutland will be accompanied by pianist Spencer Sutton for a set of vintage pop, jazz and country music. The mission of the series is to offer the community an opportunity to visit the Performing Arts Center facility and hear quality musical presentations. Audiences are invited to bring and eat lunch during the concerts, creating an informal atmosphere. Likewise, the musicians are encouraged to “inform” as well as perform by giving background information or program notes during the concert, breaking down the barriers between performer and audience. Its Board of Trustees, appointed by the Mayor, share a passionate love of the arts and a dedication to the cultural life of the city. TPACT presents a season of entertainment events, assists the Performing Arts Center with facility improvements and gives grants to local arts organizations.

Fridays in the Loft Chamber Series - Beethoven and Ewazen

March 9, 2018 | 7 - 9 p.m.

The final TSO Chamber Series performance of the season will feature music by Ewazen and Beethoven. Eric Ewazen’s Trio for Trumpet, Violin and Piano (1992), one of Ewazen’s more popular works, showcases the contrasting qualities of the cello and trumpet in four uniquely diverse movements.

Free RoCo Fit Couch to 5k

Every Tuesday & Thursday | 6 - 7 p.m.
March 27 & 29, 2018

Free 12-week Couch to 5K walk and walk/run program, open to anyone 13 yrs. and older who work, live, play, or learn in Rogers County. Mentored groups are led through progressive workouts at Claremore Lake Park, Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings in the spring and fall. All fitness levels are welcome. During the 12 weeks, participants will go from walking or walking/running a mile and finish a Mock 5K (3.1 miles). All participants finishing 70% of the workouts will receive a program tech shirt from Rogers County Health Department.
