Deep Greenwood is a series of five free community discussions, exhibits and performances building off the history captured in Victor Luckerson’s "Built From the Fire" about Tulsa’s Greenwood district. This free event will be a discussion between Author of "Built From the Fire" Victor Luckerson and Greenwood photographer Don Thompson will discuss the personal and policy impacts of urban renewal, juxtaposing visuals from government sources (redlining and urban renewal maps) with Thompson’s on-the-ground photography of how Greenwood residents experienced those tumultuous years. The Lingering Legacies of Urban Renewal will cover chapters 16-20 of "Built From the Fire". About the Venue: The OSU-Tulsa Library is home to the Ruth Sigler Avery Collection, which consists of photographs, audio interviews, transcripts, and handwritten drafts about the race massacre produced by Ruth Sigler Avery for her proposed book: Fear, The Fifth Horseman: A Documentary-Anthology of the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot. On the second Saturday of each month, drop by the farm to watch or participate as we fellowship and work hand crafts and fiber arts. Bring a craft to work on or come for a "free help session" with fiber arts such as spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, or felting. Shepherd’s Cross offers weaving and fiber arts classes year-round, on an individual or group basis. Shepherd’s Cross is an accredited Agritourism facility and a Made in Oklahoma Company that processes Animal Welfare Approved fiber (that is chemical free, hormone free, free range, all natural). Shepherd’s Cross hosts a mini wool mill, processing wool from their own sheep, raised on site. Heart of the Shepherd is the non-profit organization (501-C3) that operates at the farm and establishes wool mills in remote, impoverished areas around the world. Heart of the Shepherd teaches Biblical references to the harvest, the animals, farming, and gardening. Shepherd’s Cross and their unique Country Craft Shop is open Tuesday through Saturday 8:30 – 5:30, year-round (closed some holidays).

The Daisy BB Gun Day will be held at the J.M.Davis Arms and Historical Museum. Children through the ages of 18 may shoot in the Daisy Indoor BB Gun Shooting Gallery. The top marksmen in the age 12 and under category and ages 13-18 will win a custom-made Daisy BB rifle. Contest is free to ages 19 and under, and adults may shoot for a $3 per target charge. The adult winner will also receive a custom Daisy BB gun.

The Tulsa Spirit Fair is an alternative spirituality fair that will include information on spiritual symbolism, energy vibrations, law of attraction and other topics. This is a cocktail charity gala to be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 6:30pm at the John L. Rucker Warehouse (1227 S. Detroit Ave., Tulsa, OK 74120). Complimentary valet parking will be available. This is a cocktail attire event and the theme this year is “Bringing Back the 90’s”, so dust off your denim tuxedo, go find your platforms and get ready to party like it's 1999. The gala will include delicious local cuisines, casino games, dancing and a silent auction. Tickets are $100 per person & $175 for couples. There are also sponsorship opportunities available. All proceeds raised from the Buttercup Bash go directly towards sustaining the mission of the Tulsa Boys’ Home.

SISTER ACT, A DIVINE MUSICAL COMEDY OPENS RUN FEBRUARY 29TH AT TULSA COMMUNITY COLLEGE Tulsa Community College Theatre and Music Departments will present Sister Act, A Divine Musical Comedy in the PACE Studio Theatre February 29-March 2nd at 8pm and March 3rd at 2pm on the campus of Tulsa Community College Southeast. Sister Act, A Dive Musical Comedy is written by Sheri and Bill Steinkellner and Douglas Carter Beane. Music by Alan Menken and Lyrics by Glenn Slater the musical is based off the 1992 starring Whoopi Goldberg abs tell the story of disco club singer in the late 1970’s, Deloris Van Cartier played by Mikaela Scott is placed in protective custody in a dying convent, her unique brand of funk comes face-to-face with the traditions of the church and the strict order is in for a change," reads a Sister Act press release. "Masquerading as a nun named Mary Clarence, this sister's act will have you laughing and singing in the aisles." Nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The musical is being produced by special arrangement by Music Theatre International. Joining Scott in the cast are Valentine Tarpley as Mother Superior, Brayden Marchant as Curtis, the mobster, Von Love as cop Eddie, Ashtyn Marshall as Sister Mary Patrick, Amanda Yarberry as Sister Mary Robert, Samantha Kennedy as Sister Mary Lazarus, Jenna Soltis as Sister Mary Theresa, Jillian Mohn as Sister Mary of Tours and guest artist, Mark LeHoullier as the Monsignor O’Hara. Playing the Pope is guest artist surprise. Also appearing in the ensemble playing numerous roles are Ana Nunez playing a dual role of Sister Mary Peer and Pablo, Canyon Garner as TJ, Touna Vue as Ernie, Adam Morgan as Joey, Aaliyah Morris as Tina, Sydney Greena as Michelle, Conner Griffin and Dominic Diamond as police officers. Playing other nuns are Moriah Jestus as Sister Mary Smiles, Natalie Curtis as Sister Mary Frolic, Nicole Brookman as Sister Mary Wary, Becky Hankins as Sister Mary Graceless and Sydney Greeno as Sister Mary Tattle. Sister Act features choreography by Jennifer Andrasko.
