It's Time To Do Some Spring Cleaning!

April 14, 2022 | 12 p.m.

April 14, 2022 Digital Event Winter is coming to an end and to celebrate Spring, FranNet wants to invite you to a special lunch and learn webinar, April 14th at 12 Noon CT. We will be spotlighting 4 franchise brands with a novel approach to assisting homeowners in keeping their space spotless and organized. According to the International Franchise Association’s 2022 Franchising Outlook report, “Franchising plays an important role not only on the national level, but also on the state level. National franchising activity largely rebounded to pre-pandemic levels in 2021, but states have experienced divergent economic recovery patterns because of disparities in business climates, migration trends, and changes in consumer preferences. FRANdata forecasts that states in the West and South will experience the fastest upward trajectory of franchise business growth in 2022.” They also note how strong the home service segment has been. “Sectors that experienced strong growth in 2021 will continue their expansion in 2022. The Commercial & Residential Services sector is likely to maintain its compelling output growth, expanding by 5.9% due to sustained home construction and remodeling activities as well as increasing new home sales.” We are looking forward to seeing you there to learn more! 8178217997 https://www.eventvesta.com/events/14978/t/tickets

THE DUTTONS AT THE PONCAN

April 29, 2022 | 7:30 p.m.

The Duttons are international touring and recording artists who perform bluegrass to classical music and everything in between. Their show features a variety of instruments, including violin, guitar, bass, viola, banjo, mandolin, keyboard, harmonica, and drums, among others. The Duttons have garnered awards and recognition in national fiddling contests, classical violin competitions, and as studio musicians. In addition to their instrumental virtuosity, the Duttons are accomplished singers and dancers and have been recognized as superb vocal talents. Behind the scenes, the Duttons collaborate to create unique production ideas for their crowd-pleasing show, which is produced by the family, including choreography, musical arrangement, technical support, and marketing. Dean and Sheila Dutton were not professional musicians and they certainly weren't planning on raising their children as such, but when they realized that music was beginning to define who they were as a family, they embraced it wholeheartedly. Since that decision to pursue a career in music was made in 1991, the Duttons as a whole have not looked back and have gone on to enjoy a successful touring career and music business. Today, they own their own theater in Branson, Missouri, where they perform over 300 shows a year. They also own the hotel, restaurant, and gift shop associated with the theater, and another theater in Mesa, Arizona, where they perform from December through April. While the Duttons' musical talent is immediately obvious, what sets them apart from most shows is their ability to connect with their audiences. People are fascinated by the all-in-the-family performers whose love for each other and for what they share is definitely unique. "I, for one, have never witnessed anything like this instant rapport between performers and ticket buyers – and I've been attending concerts for almost six decades," said critic Mike Kerverlas of the Sumter, S.C. Item. "In short, the Duttons are showmanship personified."

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma: Taste of Tulsa 2022

April 30, 2022

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma in Tulsa is pleased to invite sponsors, restaurants and attendees to wine, dine and shine at our Taste of Tulsa fundraising gala on April 30 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Sequoyah Ballroom. Spend an evening tasting fine foods from local restaurants, auction bidding, live music by the band Hypnotik and so much more!

Our presenting sponsor is McElroy Manufacturing, Inc. The Honorary Event Chair is JoAnn Schaub of Bank of Oklahoma. Proceeds benefit our one-to-one mentoring program which is offered at no cost to families, thanks to the generosity of local individuals, businesses, and foundations.

The night's honoree will be Brandon Webber, Planning & Engineering Supervisor at PSO. He has been a Big Brother for eight years, and his Little Brother will be graduating from high school this year. Brandon also serves on the BBBSOK Tulsa Resource Board and encourages others in the community to become a mentor as a way to change a child's life. He will be accepting the Matt Burtelow Memorial Award, which has been given since 2001 in memory of former Big Brother Matt Burtelow, who died in an auto accident in 1999.

Tulsa Area Director Nellie Kelly sees first-hand the difference our program makes for local youth: “We know that young people are facing extreme hardships, including domestic violence and incarcerated parents. The pandemic has left children feeling even more isolated, which can increase risky behaviors. Research shows that a caring, committed mentor makes the most difference in helping children who come from hard places.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma’s evidence-based mentoring program Is designed to create positive, measurable outcomes for youth, including educational success, avoidance of risky behaviors, higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships. We match children (Littles) with caring adult role models (Bigs) so they can share and expand their worlds in new ways.

You can support Oklahoma youth by sponsoring Taste of Tulsa or by purchasing tickets to the event: tasteoftulsa.org
