Two major International Chili Society cook-offs will be coming to Oklahoma this Fall. The first in Owasso, a district ICS cook-off and People’s Choice Owasso Community Resources Chilifest, Oct. 3rd and the second the ICS Oklahoma Championship Cook-Off with the Pryor Main St. Christmas Chilifest on Nov. 14th. The best competition chili cooks in the world will be returning to Owasso in October of 2015 after a three year absence. The Owasso Community Resources Chilifest, sanctioned by the International Chili Society, will be held at Bailey Medical Center in northwest Owasso on Saturday, October 3rd.

The festival is designed to bring our communities - farmers and families - together by hosting a fun filled event for all in celebration of the arrival of fall. There will be a fully equipped and completely free Kid Zone, a mini Farmer's Market and a large variety of food vendors for festival-goers to enjoy. In addition to live music, a beer garden, and food and coat drive, there will also be exciting contests held throughout the day including a doggie costume contest, a pie baking contest, brat eating contest, pumpkin carving contest, and grape stomp competition. As night falls, the chefs of Justin Thompson Restaurant Group will present a plated wine dinner at 6 pm inspired by autumn at 624 Kitchen and Catering.

HallowZOOeen, October 27-31, is a premier spooky (but not-too scary) trick-or-treat event for the whole family. The zoo offers an alternative to traditional Halloween activities to give more than 15,000 children each year a safe place to enjoy the holiday. Activities include Goblin Stops full of treats, a Haunted Train Ride around the zoo, carnival-style games in the Pumpkin Patch Playroom, a hay maze, face-painting and much more.
