October brings some very welcome cooler temperatures and so many family-friendly events from horse shows, consignments and lots of Halloween activities. Find time to stop into our great community and enjoy some of what Claremore has to offer!
The first week of October is full of events. We start out the month on October 2nd -6th with Rhea Lana’s Kids Consignment at Will Rogers Downs. Come shop for some magical deals for the kids!
Oklahoma Buckskin Horse Association will host Route 66 Fall Futurity All Breed Horse Show at the Claremore Expo on October 3rd & 4th. Along with the horse show, Friday Evening they will host a social event at the show office. All events are free, and they are open to the public at 6pm! October 16th is Overnight at the Museum starting at 6pm, with supper from Ike’s Chili – a Will Rogers favorite. Throughout the evening, there will be games, a campfire with s’mores, cowboy sing-along, movies in theater, glow-in-the-dark activities and more. Breakfast will wrap up the event the next morning! Overnight at the Museum is for children aged 5-14 and one adult per family. Space is limited, and registration is required. Head out to Will Rogers Downs on October 23rd for O.K. Mower Racing Hallomoween! There will be a Tractor show/shine, mower trick or treating, parade of power, and to finish out the event, mower races! Everyone is welcome and costumes are allowed. Stewart Equine Enterprises returns to the Claremore Expo Center to host FallFest II Horse Show on October 24th and 25th. Admission is free and they will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday!
Dress up and head downtown for Food Truck Thursday Fall Festival on October 29th! Enjoy food trucks, trick or treating, costumes contest, music and spooky events from 6pm-9pm.
There’s something special about a community coming together to create fun, safe, and memorable experiences for local families. That’s exactly what the Motorama Hot Rod Trunk or Treat is all about—bringing families, car enthusiasts, businesses, and community members together for an evening of Halloween fun and hometown spirit. On Friday, October 30th beginning at 6:30 pm, children are invited to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and visit the creatively decorated trunks of participating hot rods and vehicles. The Claremore Expo Center Parking lot will be filled with classic cars to unique custom rides; there will be plenty to see while kids fill their candy bags with treats!
October 31st is going to be a busy day here in Claremore! The Will Rogers Days Parade kicks off at 10 a.m. Let’s celebrate Oklahoma’s Favorite Son and Claremore native, Will Rogers. To participate in the parade, it’s free sign up here: Parade | Will Rogers Memorial Museum After the parade, head to the Will Rogers Memorial Museum at noon, have lunch and watch the lovely tribute by the Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club “Hats off to Will” Admission is free.
To end the month, we have some Halloween activities happening around town! That will be followed by the Hocus Pocus Halloween event on October 31st from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Museum of History. We can’t forget Halloween at the Museum on October the 31st starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. All events are free and open to the public. Wear your costume and come to enjoy the festivities of Halloween!
