Fans of S.E. Hinton’s book, The Outsiders, may want to look inside the original movie and learn more about the author, a 1966 graduate of Will Rogers High School, when the WRHS Community Foundation sponsors the showing of the movie in the school’s auditorium Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
“We’re inviting fans, alumni, students, families, and members of the community to Will Rogers High School for Inside the Outsiders — 60th Anniversary Event, a unique day devoted to the movie, the history behind the story, and the Tulsa locations that helped bring The Outsiders to life,” said Heather Buffington, event coordinator. “This isn’t just a movie screening. It’s an opportunity to experience The Outsiders from the inside.”
The event is one of several fundraisers sponsored by the Foundation to raise money to support the arts, administration, academics, activities, athletics, and scholarships.
Doors will open at 10 a.m. for a “meet and greet” time with extras who played small parts in the original movie.
