Play On! by Rick Abbot

The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse Proudly Presents Play On! By Rick Abbot Tickets on sale Now! Call our Box Office 918-258-0077 to purchase tickets or Buy Online www.bacptheatre.com Adults $22, Child/Student/Senior/Military $20 The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse is proud to present Play On! By Rick Abbot for two big weekends! August 5, 6, 12 & 13, 2022 at 7:30 PM and Sunday Matinees on August 7 & 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Playhouse located at 1800 S. Main Street in Broken Arrow. Play On! - One plucky community theatre is about to produce a show called Murder Most Foul, a new “murder mystery play” with the same title as an Agatha Christie novel but with no relation whatsoever. The director/theatre manager, Gerry, thought producing the play was a good idea since the inexperienced playwright has agreed to let the company perform the show for no charge. Gerry valiantly attempts to get the production ready for opening night. However, with opening night a mere four days away, the author decides to re-write the play, changing the actors’ lines and, worse still, adding a new character. The cast is having problems enough learning the original script, let alone learning any new lines and suddenly having to incorporate a new character. Even with the help of the stage manager and the sound and lighting technician, it seems as though the production is doomed! Anyone who has been involved in rehearsing a play will identify very strongly with the maxim “If anything can go wrong – it will.” When the author decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre during the curtain calls, the audience is treated to a madcap climax and a thoroughly hilarious romp. Play On! is a hilarious love letter to community theatre. So if you are up for an evening of light-hearted merriment, we hope you will come join us in the fun! We are pleased to welcome back director Stephanie Alecia Rose to the BACP. Stephanie has directed several successful productions for the BACP including Send Me No Flowers, Honeymoon at Graveside Manor, and War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast in 2019. She has assembled a dynamite cast of characters that we know will have you rolling in the aisles with laughter. The cast includes Ashe Buffington, Alyssa Burrow, Samara Cain, Gerald Carter, Amanda Ewton, Bob Knutson, Dom Laguan, Carol Palmour, Ruth Seefeldt and Stephanie Zongker. More information for this production can be obtained by calling the BACP at 918-258-0077. The BACP is located in The Main Place at 1800 S. Main in downtown Broken Arrow. “Play On!” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com. This production is made possible in part by grants from the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. The BACP would like to thank Standley Systems for being a sponsor for our 2022-2023 season. Trail of Joy Tour

August 28-31, 2022 | 5 - 9 p.m.

In an effort to bring unity to the body of Christ and revival to our nation, a national event called " Trail of Joy Tour is coming to Broken Arrow to do a 7 day Tent Revival." The tour is traveling from Salem, Oregon to Miami, Florida and will host a series of tent revivals with a vision to turn the "Trail of Tears" into a "Trail of Joy" and birth sustainable revival in America. We will do this by loving our Native American Nations and our neighboring churches as Christ loved us. The tour will also feature three grassroots workshops in three separate churches. Keynote participants include Jimmy Muskrat a Cherokee Native who at 14 years old rode the trail of tears on his bicycle. Jimmy Muskrat also know as "Five O" now owns the original circuit rider to the west ( Jason Lee’s ) bible which is 200 years old. Jason Lee is responsible for bringing the word of God to the Native Americans as well as the statehood of Oregon. A critical call is being given to the local churches in Broken Arrow, Ok., to come together and 'break their arrows " to unify against the darkness coming against our children and nation. A second part of the Tour will take place on September 21st-September 27th at the Cherokee National Peace Pavilion in Tahlequah, Ok.
