The Gold4Kids Walk and Run is our major annual event. It is a day of celebration and remembrance. We encourage runners and walkers to form teams and raise money to support our mission to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for childhood cancer. The teams who raise the most money will be recognized at our ceremony. Come early to enjoy breakfast and stay after for lunch. When: Saturday, September 7, 2019 Where: River West Festival Park 2100 S Jackson Ave. Tulsa, OK Times: 7:30 am – Day of Run registration 8:00 am -- Activities begin 8:30 am – 5K and 10K begin 9:45 am – Awards 10:00 am – Ceremony honoring local children who have faced a cancer diagnosis 10:45 am – Walk After the Walk—lunch and continued fun for the entire family!! 9:00am-1:00pm Blood drive Registration is $35 for the 5K ($45 for the 10K) and includes walk registration, finisher’s medal and Event T-Shirt. (T-Shirts can only be guaranteed for those registered before August 16, 2019.) For the Walk only, registration is $10 for adults, and free for kids 15 and under. T-shirts may be purchased by walk only registrants for $15. The Gold4Kids Walk and 5K is an event for the entire family! It is more than just a walk and race as we pause to honor our local childhood cancer fighters and survivors and remember the ones who have been taken. What better way to honor kids than to have lots of fun activities for the entire family? Food, entertainment, games, and music will all be a part of the festivities. Most cancer fighters can expect to experience hair loss. Some embrace the bald, while others collect wigs and/or hats and scarves, which may range from sedate to silly. We encourage all participants, and our runners especially, to wear their favorite head gear, whether functional or goofy, in honor of our kids!! Day of race registration and packet pick up will begin at 7:30 a.m. The 5k and 10K race, chip timed on a certified course, will begin at 8:30. Other activities for non-runners will also begin at this time. At 9:45 we will present race awards and then honor our children who have been diagnosed with cancer with a short ceremony. After a short walk around the beautiful River West Festival Park, we will return to continue the fun and activities. For questions, please contact eat2@eau2eav2eaw2.
