What makes a portrait more than just a face? In this creative camp led by Elizabeth Henley, founder of Black Moon Artist Collective, campers will explore portrait styles from traditional to expressive character art. Inspired by these art styles and the beautiful Philbrook gardens, campers will experiment with color, pattern, and composition to create portraits that capture each camper's individuality. A day at Camp Philbrook starts in our studios, but we quickly use the whole museum: art, gardens, etc. to explore what it means to be a creative thinker and maker. Our workshops are geared towards getting messy, working together and making space for every child's ideas.

Widely considered a masterpiece, these timeless classic challenges American ideas of power, intolerance, and justice. In the Puritan community of Salem, Massachusetts, a servant girl accuses a farmer’s wife of witchcraft. One accusation spiral into many, uncovering a web of bigotry and deceit that changes their lives forever. Among the most produced plays since its 1953 debut, The Crucible is both a gripping historical drama and an evergreen parable of contemporary society.
